Anti-War Movement
(Peace Not War)
1. A social movement, usually against a certain nation's decision to start or carry on an armed conflict, without a just cause.
2. Also known as pacifism, which is the opposition to all use of military force during conflicts.
3. Anti-war activists work through protest and other grassroot means to attempt to persuade a government(s) to put an end to a specific war or conflict.
4. The anti-war movement is not necessarily opposed to national defense. Pacifists are against all war, but anti-war activists may be opposed to only a particular war or wars.
5. In order to create organized, determined, and principled opposition to war, peace-centered activists have often founded anti-war organizations.
