Class Placement - 2022/2023 School Year
As we near the end of the school year and consider class placements for 2022/2023, we want to ensure you have information regarding the process. Please understand that a great deal of time, energy, and professional judgment goes into the placement of each and every student.
Factors that we consider while building “balanced” classes include the following:
Combinations of students that create the strongest learning environment possible (for all students, not just a few)
Close to an equal number of boys and girls
Student personality, behavior, and special needs
Individual learning styles
Therefore, we are not accepting specific teacher requests. However, if you would like to provide input that would help us with class placement without making specific teacher requests, please complete and submit this Parent Input Form no later than Friday, May 6. Any information you provide regarding your student’s learning style, personality, behavior, and/or special needs is valued and will be noted.
Staff will use their professional and in-depth knowledge of your child as a learner and student to develop well-balanced classes that reflect the Sunset Ranch Learning Community.
When you have completed the annual Data Confirmation in the Aeries Parent Portal, teacher assignments can be accessed there prior to the first day of school as in the past.
PTC Skate Night- Wednesday at Roller King
SEE YOU ALL THERE!
PTC Parent Picnic- May 2nd
PTC Spring Dance- May 6th
Allergy Season is Here- Medical Waiver Info
With Springtime allergy season upon us, students are experiencing many allergy symtpoms that mimic Covid-related symptoms. Unfortunatley, if a child exhibits any reported symptom below, even just from allergies, RUSD will advise students to stay home, regardless of vaccination status. After reporting ANY symptoms from the following list, students must have a negative test result in order to return to school:
-Fever
-Cough
-Nausea or Vomiting
-Fatigue
-Muscle or Body Aches
-Headache
-New Loss of Taste of Smell
-Sore Throat
-Congestion or Runny Nose
-Diarrhea
Luckily, if your student has a history of seasonal allergies and has symptoms (congestion, runny nose, etc), RUSD has a medical waiver available. Once signed by a physician, the medical waiver can be kept on file for your student. If a student has a symptom that is excused by the waiver, a covid test will not be required in order to return to school. RUSD Medical Waiver

RESPONSIBILITY
This month we are talking about Responsibility!
The dictionary talks about Responsibility in a few ways: duty, accountability, and the independence to make decisions. We are using a slightly different definition at school:
Responsibility: to take action and understand how our choices affect others, ourselves, and the world.
Every day we make choices and take actions. Being responsible means we know how those choices impact all people and things involved! Sometimes we get to choose what we are responsible for, sometimes we earn new privileges through consistent and healthy choices, and sometimes we are responsible for things simply because we are a part of a community (and we all have to do our part!).
