Where the Adventure Begins...
Happy Friday!
Dear Parents,
Hey there! We've had such a quick week which brings us into December. That means next week is our Annual Multicultural Night! It is Tuesday evening, December 6th from 5:30-6:30. We hope you ALL can come! We have many families that will be hosting tables and stations to share food, crafts, traditions, and more information about their culture. It is always a wonderful evening of fun and fellowship! I cannot wait and hope you will be there too!
While it isn't my favorite topic, it is definitely an important one and we need your help. Lots of students means lots of cars! We need everyone's help to get our students to and from school in a safe and timely manner. Here are a few reminders:
-If you are coming in from Preston down Hutson, this is a 2-lane street! Because going straight is not an option, if you are getting right into the carpool line stay in the left lane before the stop sign and once you make that right turn. This will allow all other traffic to stay in the right lane and get on the way to where ever they are headed!
-When heading north on King's Ridge the only option is to turn left onto Hutson. Making a U-turn is not allowable.
-For those on Red Cedar dropping in the front carpool loop, most parents are coming from the east side. However, we have a few that do come from the west. When parents are also waiting from the other direction to turn into the carpool line, please model friendly turn-taking by allowing a car to turn in when it is their turn.
-We have a LOT of students which means carpool takes longer. If you are finding it difficult to be in our carpool line on school grounds before the cones are put out at 7:40 or 11:40 that means you need to adjust your routines by coming 5-10 minutes earlier. Please understand we have all hands on deck and are moving students as quickly as possible while ensuring our students are safe and get to the right teachers!
The most important thing is to be courteous, patient, and friendly! If every single person can do this, things will work beautifully!!

Missed the Bus?
If your student has missed the bus and you are bringing him/her to school, please go through the carpool drop off with all other car riders. Front office personnel is limited and are often focused on bringing in new families. If at all possible students should not be dropped off prior to the start of school in the front office. We do not have the staff available to individually walk all students to class. It helps the overall functioning and efficiency of our school when everyone is on time and following the appropriate procedures! Thank you for your part in making that happen!
Diversity Parades and Holiday Parties!
Our Diversity Parades are on December 9. That is just around the corner! If you are just attending the parade, you will not have to be scanned or check in at the office because we will keep you in areas of limited access.
Our first party for the year will be our last week of school before the break. If you are planning to attend, it will save you lots of time to have your driver's license scanned before
Monday, December 12 in order to be cleared to attend Class Parties on December 16th. We want you to be able to arrive and get to your child's party quickly to join in on the fun! Having this done ahead of time will be the best way to do that!
I want to hear from YOU!
Hey ECS Parents! I've created a new forum called The ECS Parent Place! As your child's principal, I want to make sure I keep open lines of communication with all of you! I'm hoping this will turn into a great forum where you can post questions, feedback, and praise so that I can stay better connected with you and your perspectives. I look forward to hearing from you! Just click this link and then look for the hot pink circle with the plus sign. Click on that and you're on your way! I'll keep an eye out so I can respond to your posts. Thanks!
