Volunteer Application
Clear Creek ISD has implemented a new online volunteer application form for parents and community members, which now requires volunteers to register on an annual basis. As of July 15, all volunteer records have been deactivated, and effective July 16, both former and prospective volunteers must apply/reapply using CCISD’s new volunteer application to be eligible for upcoming volunteer opportunities in the 2019-2020 school year. It can take up to 3-4 days to be approved. If you think you may be volunteering this year, go ahead and take care of applying. We appreciate all our volunteers!

Core Value Word of the Month
This month we are talking about Responsibility! The dictionary talks about Responsibility in a few ways: duty, accountability, and the independence to make decisions. We are using a slightly different definition at school:
Responsibility: to take action and understand how our choices affect others, ourselves, and the world.
Every day we make choices and take actions. Being responsible means we know how those choices impact all people and things involved! Sometimes we get to choose what we are responsible for, sometimes we earn new privileges through consistent and healthy choices, and sometimes we are responsible for things simply because we are a part of a community (and we all have to do our part!).
We will spend time talking about what it means to be responsible for our classroom. We will practice self-control and develop helpful practices. We will think about people with a lot of Responsibility like Michael Jordan and Eleanor Roosevelt. Together, we can take Responsibility for a more kind, generous world!
Digital Citizenship Character Lessons this month will focus on being responsible online

Dine Out to Donate
The Clear Creek Education Foundation is gearing up to host its sixth annual “Dine Out to Donate” on Monday, October 7. The process is simple – citizens enjoy a meal at a participating restaurant, and in return the restaurant will donate a portion of the proceeds to CCEF to benefit the students and teachers of the Clear Creek Independent School District.
This event brings fun, district-wide competition between all CCISD schools. The top three elementary, intermediate and high schools with the highest percentage of participation based on student population will each win the following 1st - $1,000, 2nd - $500 and 3rd - $250. Overall, the top school wins the “Top Dog Trophy” which comes with very special bragging rights.

Change of Transportation
Reminder, please note that any transportation changes during the school day should be in the form of a written note signed by the parent and/or guardian. If faxing your note to the office, please include student and teacher name, date, and change of transportation with a copy of your driver’s license. The school fax number is 281-284-4105. All transportation changes must be in the office by 2:30 p.m. so we can inform the teacher in time for dismissal. Thank you for your diligence in this matter. *Please note-if calling the school to change transportation, you must be able to fax in your request in writing with a copy of your photo ID. No calls about change in transportation will be allowed unless accompanied with this note. This allows us to ensure that safety procedures are followed and students’ whereabouts are closely monitored.
