Having Chromebook Issues?
Mr. Schwartz has brilliantly put together a checklist of things to look at if your chromebook is not operating like it should.
- Reduce the number of tabs open (2-3 max)
- Remove non-school based extensions (click new tab, click three vertical dots, more tools, extensions, remove any games, and don't add anymore)
- Remove non-school based bookmarks (click new tab, click bookmark, remove any that don't belong, and don't add anymore)
- Change background of new tab page to default or "no background" (click new page, bottom right might say customize or a pen icon, click restore to default)
- Clear last 4 weeks of browsing history (click new tab, three vertical dots top right, more tools, clear browsing data, select last 4 weeks and all three boxes, clear data)
- Check for updates (new tab, click three vertical dots, settings, about chrome or chrome OS [left side], check for updates, update id needed)
- Sign out of chromebook and sign back in (click new tab, click circle icon, sign out, and log back in)
- Power the chromebook all the way down (hold down the power button, once off wait 10 seconds and then power it back up)
If these steps don't improve the performance it may need to be reset or looked at by IT.
It is possible that it may also be your internet service.

NEW COVID TESTING SITES
NEW Testing Services - Tuesday, December 8, 2020
Washington and Ozaukee Counties have partnered with Curative, Inc. to provide free oral COVID-19 testing at Washington County Fair Park and Ozaukee County Fairgrounds. Testing will begin on Tuesday, December 15th and will be available Monday through Friday. The tests are self-administered PCR oral swabs; results are texted or e-mailed within 48 hours. Testing is open from 8am – 4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 10am – 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays at each location. Residents will need to register ahead of time in order to guarantee a test and bring their insurance cards and a photo ID. Testing is free, with no out-of-pocket costs. Individuals without insurance will not be turned away. Appointments can be scheduled online through Curative’s website: www.curative.com - You may schedule an appointment beginning Friday, December 11.
Free Breakfast and Lunches Extended until the end of the School Year
Fitness Room Hours
The Fitness Room will be open from 3pm to 6pm Monday through Friday as long as we can keep it staffed with a supervisor. A current Waiver must be on file before you can use the facility. There will be cleaning supplies made available in the Fitness Room for all who use it so that they may clean the equipment they use/touch.
Sanitizing IT Equipment
Disinfecting your Technology is Never a Bad Idea!
Chromebooks and Laptops
Step 1: Power off the device. You will be applying liquid solutions to your device, so powering it off is a must.
Step 2: Remove any accessories or plug-ins such as cases, USBs, and headphones. Once removed, cases can be separately disinfected with sanitizing wipes or spray.
Step 3: Clean the screen using a lightly damp Clorox Disinfecting Wipe. Wipes should not leave a liquid on your hands before using. Heavy amounts of disinfecting solution can damage the screen.
Step 4: Use a 70 percent isopropyl alcohol wipe or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to gently wipe the rest of your laptop or Chromebook, such as the display, keyboard, or other exterior surfaces.
Step 5: Wait for the alcohol solution to completely evaporate before turning your Chromebook back on.
