Society for Broadcast Engineers Certification Exams

Certified Radio Operator and Certified Television Operator are operator certifications administered through the study of a certification handbook and completion of a test based on that material. A great certification for educators as well as students finishing their programs.

Audio Production Workshop

Produce a radio package for the TIVA conference using digital audio recorders and audio editing software. Get hands on experience and ideas for managing audio projects in the classroom.

Screenwriting 101

We all love to watch how other teachers give a lesson. Session participants will be the "students" in this demonstration lesson on story and structure of writing a screenplay.

Graphic Design Workshop

Produce a graphic design piece for the TIVA conference using photos taken at the conference and Adobe design software. Working in groups teachers will get hands on experience and ideas for managing audio projects in the classroom.

Live Event Filming

Friday Night Lights (and Camera!) Get hands-on experience using a mobile unit truck to film a live event at the conference.

Talk with contest directors from SkillsUSA and get information about preparing your students to compete for the events like Digital Cinema, Photography, Broadcast News Production, TV Production and Radio.
