Clinton Cougar Newsletter
March 2021
Dear Clinton Families,
During the last week of March we are focusing on social emotional learning for all of our students, by hosting a Hope Week. This week of fun lunchtime activities is intended to promote inclusion and kindness. Our student Hope Squad is excited to plan these activities for our school. You can read more about our school-wide efforts to support social emotional learning in the Counselor Corner of this newsletter.
As a reminder to families using the student drop off zone. Please pull forward so that other cars can pull in behind you and we are able to maximize the space that we have for drop offs. Also please avoid dropping off students in parking lots, as they then have to cross traffic to enter the school grounds. We appreciate everyone driving slowly and being watchful of our little ones.
Spring is in the air and our Community Council is working on the Teacher and Student Success Plan for next year. This plan includes goals for our school. Two of the things we want to work on are laying a solid foundation in reading, especially for our younger grades, and supporting individualized learning experiences, for all our students. We will also continue our school-wide focus on social emotional learning.
Thank you for your continued efforts to support remote learning on Fridays. Many children are getting individualized help from their teachers each Friday morning, and others are working hard at home. With teachers and parents working as a team, our students are showing lots of growth!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lundell
Principal Clinton Elementary

We are so excited for March to be here. This month we are starting off with a review of school-wide behavior expectations and how we can follow these to help everyone feel respected and safe at our school. Our teachers and administration starred in a fun video highlighting our school-wide behavior plan. Ask your student what part of the video they liked best. We will also be focusing on self-care and recognizing and dealing with big emotions in safe ways. On our Clinton Elementary School website, you can click on Peachjar for community resources for self-care and emotion coaching, or click on this link. https://app.peachjar.com/flyers/all/schools/30368/

Help is needed for all kinds of activities, whether you are available in the daytime, or the evening, there is something that will fit your schedule.
It's a great way to participate in school events, and get to know other parents.
Thursday- School Spirit Day!
