5th Grade Expectations and End of Year Events
Our 5th grade students are role models and have had the opportunity to learn, practice and demonstrate meeting the Southeast expectations all year. Throughout the next seven (7) weeks students will continue to have the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to meet and exceed the Southeast Expectations. Meeting and/or exceeding these expectations will result in opportunities to attend numerous special events planned for 5th grade as well as leadership opportunities on field day.
However, failure to meet these expectations, that we have practiced all year, may result in loss of privileges and attendance at one or more of these events. We, along with Mrs. Simpson and Mrs. Renton, have talked with the students regarding the focus on academics and meeting these expectations first before we “play” - Practicing the habit of “Put First Things First” – Work First, Then Play. Our 5th grade students understand they need to be proactive and are in charge of themselves and their responsibility in meeting our school wide expectations.
As a team, we have developed a tool to help students monitor their goal of meeting our expectations. Please see the picture below to see what students were introduced to by Mrs. Simpson on Friday. This plan goes into effect today.
We appreciate your continued support as we strive to finish the year strong.
