Parent Information

Thank you families for being flexible and understanding when making the transition to the 20-21 school year! You have been wonderful about reaching out and asking questions while still following all procedures. We are so grateful for your partnership. This week we had virtual all school assemblies on "Using Kind Words." The students shared their thinking and created plans for implementing kindness here at Koenig.

If you have any questions, please call or email any of the staff members listed below or your child's teacher. We will continue to monitor any updates as we move forward.

Below there are several reminders we thought might be useful for our families.

Calendar Of The School Year

Please click here for the 20-21 school year calendar. Note that we may need to make adjustments to this calendar for second semester or January.

Reminder: Mon.-Thurs. begins next week. Students will not have school on Fridays!

Student Medications

Any child who requires medication at school, must have proper paperwork on file.

Here are the forms we use:

Non-prescription form

Prescription form

Please make arrangements with Jacque in the school office to drop off any medications.

Waterbottles

Our drinking fountains at school are set to bottle filler only. If your child would like, please send a water bottle that they can keep at school.

Access To Buildings

We are working diligently to create a plan that will keep all safe during this time. Until we are directed otherwise, students and staff will be the only persons allowed in our buildings this includes dropping off, pick up, volunteers and other visitors. You may make an appointment to have a virtual connection with our staff members. They will also be reaching out to you as well!

Note About Drop Off and Pick Up

Thank you for stream lining the drop off and pick up to the closest doors. This has really helped the flow of our exits! We really appreciate it! Thank you!

Refunds and Morning Milk

A reminder that school fees, tee shirt, and milk money payments were due Monday, September 14th. Morning milk will start on September 21st.

Refunds from last Spring were sent out last week. This was for families that paid for morning milk for 4th quarter in the 2019-2020 school year.

If you have any questions, please contact Koenig Elementary.

From Your Student Services Team

Hope - Our Superpower! Two Rivers is a Kids at Hope school district. What does that really mean?

Kids at Hope, is a youth developmental strategy, based on significant academic research and evaluation. Kids at Hope begins with a foundational belief system that states and demonstrates, all children are capable of success, No Exceptions. We know that kids succeed when they are surrounded by adults who believe they can succeed. We commit to being a “10” on a 10 point scale, in our belief that ALL kids are capable of success. (period). No excuses, No Exceptions.

How do ‘WE’ - (the collective group of adults in every kid’s life) demonstrate we believe in them? Kids at Hope give us a Framework. First, “We Connect.” We know that children succeed when they have meaningful sustainable relationships with caring adults (this includes parents, teachers, family friends, coaches, etc.). Second, “We Time Travel.” We know children succeed when they can see and talk about their future. The future relates to education & career as well as, home & family; community & service, and hobbies & recreation.

Join us in an active practice of hope. As a family, discuss the following:

  1. What does hope mean to you?

  2. Who in your life makes you feel hopeful or who has given you hope when you most needed it?

  3. How do I give hope to others?

  4. Dream out loud together about what you hope you will accomplish this school year. It might be in terms of academics like reading a certain amount of books this year. Or it might be a new hobby - I want to learn how to play the guitar. Or it might be committing to weekly hours of service to our community.

  5. Write down. “I hope to accomplish……. I will do this by…. And I will get help from…. to make my hope become my reality. Tuck it away in a safe place and review it in two weeks to see how you and your family are making hope come alive.
