Pine Street Elementary School
Principal's Message
Thank you to all the students, staff, parents and guardians who have helped make the start of this year so positive. The enthusiasm and energy shown by all is truly inspiring, especially with the amazing weather we have had all month. Students are well on their way learning all the great new things they need to know this year, and our teachers are all excited to be back to a normal year.
We have already completed a number of activities at the school including Meet the Teacher Night, School Advisory Council Meeting, and the Terry Fox Run. We enjoyed meeting many of you at these special events and look forward to working with you to further your child’s future educational goals.
With the fall season coming upon us so quickly, here are a few little reminders to help us provide the best care we can for your children.
- Please be sure your child has warm clothing before they leave for school.
- Please make sure your child has a pair of indoor and outdoor shoes.
Our Parent-Teacher-Student conferences are occurring October 25, 26 and 27 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.. This is a great time where we can come together and share each other’s insights to help your child be as successful as possible. At Pine Street Elementary, we believe that parents, students, and teachers are partners, working together collaboratively for the benefit of our student’s success and positive futures.
Have a super October and remember to enjoy the beautiful colorful changes this fall. Thank you for your continued support in helping us make Pine Street Elementary a school of Dignity and Respect.
All families are encouraged to contact the school if they have any questions, concerns and/or suggestions. We appreciate your input.

Emergency Drill Notification
Over the next month, we will be rehearsing our emergency drills. These drills include fire, lock-down, hold and secure, shelter-in-place, and on alert. Practicing emergency drills is an integral part of school safety and being properly prepared for emergencies. Students will usually be notified in advance that these are in fact drills and not a real situation. The procedures that will be practiced and discussed are in preparation if a future event occurs at or around the school where these measures would need to be implemented to help keep everyone safe. If you have any questions about the drills, please feel free to contact Mr. Murray Howell, assistant principal.
Hot Lunch for 2022-2023
Pine Street School Council is excited to offer your students Hot Lunch for the 2022-23 year! Hot lunch will now be held ONCE a month starting on October 28th and ending in June 2023. Orders will be placed online to ensure accuracy and to make the process as easy as possible.
