Together We Can! - November 3rd Edition
A Message from the Principal
As we begin a new month, we are reminded that this is the time of year for kindness. At Gayman, students are taught 5 key character traits: Respect, Responsibility, Cooperation, Perseverance, and Kindness, called "The Gayman 5". Kindness is not only achieved through giving, but it is also shown through recognition. This month, we are doing both.
Our kindness season will begin this week with the Gayman Thanksgiving Food Drive. We invite everyone to help us support over 20 Gayman families who are facing difficult times. We encourage you to send in nonperishable foods during the first two weeks of November. There are boxes outside the main office entrance for our collection.
Next week, our season of kindness will extend to our veterans. While we are unable to invite the military family members of our students and staff to school, we will honor them. Every veteran will be represented by an American flag placed at our school's entrance. We invite you to share these names with us, so we can recognize their service.
So, as everyone around us begins the season of thankfulness, at Gayman we are beginning the season of kindness, too. Kindness, as always, is at the heart of our school. For this, I am very thankful.
With gratitude and kindness,
Kelly Carter

Thank You for Your Service!
To mark this special day, we are hosting an "Interview with a Vet". All students are invited to submit an interview question for Cheryl Silvestri, our school nurse by Friday, November 6th. Mrs. Silvestri served as a Private First Class in the US Army. As a soldier, she was trained as a combat medic and was stationed in Virginia, New Jersey, Texas and Georgia. Mrs. Silvestri continued her nursing career as a civilian for the Department of Defense in Germany.
Four questions will be selected by Mr. Isaacsohn's 4th grade class. Then, one 6th grade student from each class will be selected to read the question and interview Ms. Silvestri. This special interview will be recorded for all to enjoy! Submit your question HERE.
In addition, we invite our Gayman community to share the names of their military family members by Friday, November 6th. We will create a "Heroes List" video to recognize their service. Our goal is to share with pride the strength of our community. Share your veteran's name HERE.
To all our veterans - thank you for your service!

Reporting an Absence
The attendance secretary, Mrs. Stevens, will change that absence to virtually present (VP). This will give the student credit for attendance, but notes that the student is following the guidelines established by the Bucks County Department of Health as he/she remains home and in isolation.
Online Absences: If a student does not attend class, the student will be marked absent until we receive the communication from parents. Note: If a student logs-in initially, but leaves the call or does not engage, the comment "Virtually Cut" will be added to the comments section. Parents can see this information and reach out to Mrs. Stevens with any questions regarding their child's participation on the specific day.
