"Know Your Why!"
Teacher Tired
"Ain't no tired like the first week of school teacher tired!" What a wonderful start to the year! I have loved visiting your classes and seeing all of the community building going on. By building relationships and getting to know your students better this week, you all have laid a firm foundation to build your year on. Thank you for investing the time this week in your kiddos and in making those positive phone calls home to parents.
The Week Ahead
- Monday, August 13 - Kindergarten's first day
- Wednesday, August 15 - red day
- Thursday, August 16 - blue day
- Friday, August 17 - yellow day; Surprise Celebration Pep Rally at 2:00
Reminders
- If you have new curtains in your room, you'll need to get some fire retardant spray from the front office to spray them.
- If you want to sponsor a club this year, I need to know now even if it won't take place until next semester. I have to turn in a list to the board by next Friday.
- I also need to know who would like to tutor this year. We'd like to start it this semester, so give me your name and your plan.
- Check out Reading Counts and give us feedback. It's comparable to AR but is cheaper and has math. We've only heard back from ONE teacher. Click on the link below to visit the web site, then let Mrs. Dana know if you will use the program and want it by sending her an email. I can't order it for just ONE teacher.
- We have a color poster maker - let Mrs. Dana know if you'd like an anchor chart or sign made for your classroom.
- Lesson Plans - I plan to randomly select (with popsicle sticks) 5 plans each week to give feedback on. I'll be looking for the standards you will teach for the week, the daily learning target/goal, and how you plan to assess the daily learning goal to see what your students know, understand, and can do.
- Thanks so much for turning in all of your paperwork and forms - I know it's A LOT to keep up with: My Benefits Channel, Homework Policy, Bus Rosters, student t-shirt sizes, etc. . . Beth Gill would like to give a shout out to Mrs. Angel and Mrs. Penrod for almost having ALL of their students' paperwork turned in! Thanks, ladies!
Field Trip T-Shirts
We have another submission for our field trip t-shirts for this year. The 3 choices are pictured below. Email your vote to Dana by this Wednesday, August 15.
