Dismissal for car rider line and car tag information

Our pick up dismissal procedures includes car tags for all car riders at dismissal. We use car tags to ensure the safety of your child(ren), our students. Beginning Monday, January 8th, we will require the car tag in order to call your child out for dismissal. Again, this is for the safety of your child. If you have lost your car tag, or need another one, we are happy to provide one in the front office. This may also be a good time to update your pick-up list. You can send in a note, or email, but we can only release your child to the people you have listed on INOW or if you have informed the front office with an email or note. Again, the safety of your child(ren) is most important to us at Chaffee. Thank you for understanding.

TeamREAD....are you interested in volunteering or know someone who can?

We are very excited to begin our TeamREAD program again this year at Chaffee!
TeamREAD is a volunteer program that focuses on sight words and fluency in the primary grades. We had great success last year and hope to gain even more volunteers (coaches) this year! We will be happy to train anyone that is willing to volunteer 30 minutes of their time once a week. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Elaine Avery, our head coach, at elaine3504@att.net.

AR Reading Goals = Mystery Trip at the end of the year

Please encourage your child to read at home. Students in grades 2-5 must reach all 4 nine week goals in order to attend the Mystery Trip at the end of the year. If your child did not make their first AR goal, they can still participate in the next AR Celebration that we will have at the end of every quarter (nine weeks). Please encourage your child to read, read, read!!! Kindergarten will work on reading 100 sight words and First Grade will set their reading goals during the Wild About Reading program in the spring. We set high expectations because we believe in our students!
