Well Wednesday Information

Each Wednesday, MSD of Martinsville will observe a two hour delay to allow teachers to collaborate with professional learning communities and ultimately positively impact student achievement. Pictured above are Brooklyn's first grade teachers reviewing strategies that make the most impact on student learning.

  • Brooklyn's doors open at 10:25 with a tardy bell of 10:40 each Wednesday.
  • Brooklyn will still offer free breakfast each day, including Wednesdays.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

Arrival:

  • The first bell rings at 8:25 AM and the tardy bell rings at 8:40 AM.
  • Students will enter door 2 or 11.
  • Students cannot be dropped off any earlier than 8:25 AM.
  • As you leave, DO NOT PASS other cars.

Dismissal:

  • Call the office by 3:00 PM for a dismissal change.
  • Students riding buses will dismiss with the 3:40 bell.
  • Cars pull behind the buses, show your car tag to our check-in staff, and you will be directed to a cone in the front of the building.
  • If you need a car tag or additional tags, please contact the office.
  • Please stay in your car! A staff member will help your student get in the car.
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY, DO NOT PASS other cars.
  • Please arrive no later than 3:45 to pick up your student.
  • Walkers are dismissed after the car traffic is gone to ensure their safety.
  • If your student needs an early dismissal, they must be picked up before 3:15. Starting at 3:15 we will wait until transportation is complete before dismissing students from the front office for safety.

Anti-Bullying Campaign

MSD of Martinsville kicks-off an "Anti-Bullying Campaign" Tuesday, September 6, 2022. A district-wide newsletter and various curricular activities will educate and inform our

community about identifying, understanding the effects of and what to do about bullying. Students will also sign a pledge to stop bullying. Please look for more information from us in September.
