Reflections from Pastor Jennifer
What a great day we had on Thanks Day! To everyone who ministered - cleaning, decorating, singing, miming, cooking, speaking, and every other task - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! The Presence of the Lord was in the place, and the fellowship was sweet. Perhaps we should have more days of not asking God for a thing, just praising Him for what He has done!
Gideon Witnessing Classes
Gideon instructors will be with us Wednesdays - Nov. 30 & Dec. 7 at 6:45. They will help us become more comfortable sharing the Gospel with unbelievers. Refreshments will be served.
Y'all made it happen! 46 shoeboxes, stuffed full and completely financed! Thank you for your contributions. Now we have the chance to volunteer to process shoeboxes at Samaritan's Purse in Charlotte. Join us on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 2-6. We will meet at church around 12:30 to ride together.
From our family to yours
To allow time for all the necessary Thanksgiving preparations, we will not have classes this Wednesday night. So we want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving!
Sis. Robbin is planning to host a ladies fellowship event at her home in Cornelius. Each lady will bring a small gift to exchange. Please stay tuned for details!
December Giving Opportunity
We are working to get names for a Salvation Army Angel Tree. If you choose to participate, you will take a child's name from the tree and purchase gifts for that child from a provided list. The gifts will be brought back to church and taken to the Angel Tree donation site.
As we near the feasting season, we mentally prepare ourselves for our fasting season. Our focus in January will be a time of corporate fasting. We are in this together! However, some people may have dietary restrictions or be so disciplined that there is not much for them to give up in the way of food. This devotional from bible.com can help! It is a guide to help each person choose what is best for them to fast. It is a short - 4 day devotion. Check it out (the title above is the link).
I recently preached from this passage, but Pastor Robert brings out a different angle
