Engineer Your Future: Model Bridge Contest - 33rd Year!
Saturday Feb 3, 2024 nine members of the Northbridge Middle School Bridge Building Club will attend the 33rd annual Bridge Building Contest located at Wentworth Institute. Ms. Betsy Wermuth is the advisor and we wish them all good luck.
8th grade Step up day
Monday 2/12 the entire 8th grade class and their teachers will be going to Northbridge High School for step up day from 8:30-11am.. The high school has been working hard preparing an interest fair format for our 8th grade students to explore all that NHS has to offer. The students will be bussed from the middle school to the high school and back. In order to attend the students must be free from behavior discipline the week prior.
Attendance Initiative
We're delighted to share that our inaugural attendance incentive awards were distributed today. Out of the 341 students with two or fewer absences in January, 50 were randomly selected and each received a Burger King meal certificate as a recognition reward.
Cell Phones
The new district wide phone policy this year has significantly contributed to improved attendance and student achievement. However, we've noticed cell phones re-emerging, and it's crucial they remain in their Yondr pouches. We'll be verifying attestation forms this week; if your child no longer brings a phone, kindly sign and submit the form to the office. Thank you for your ongoing support in maintaining a focused learning environment.

What’s The Big Deal About Cavities?
Cavities (also known as caries or tooth decay) are the most common chronic disease of childhood in the United States1. Untreated cavities can cause pain and infections that may lead to problems with eating, speaking, playing, and learning. Children who have poor oral health often miss more school and receive lower grades than children who don’t.
More than half of children aged 6 to 8 have had a cavity in at least one of their baby (primary) teeth.2
More than half of adolescents aged 12 to 19 have had a cavity in at least one of their permanent teeth.2
Children aged 5 to 19 years from low-income families are twice as likely (25%) to have cavities, compared with children from higher-income households (11%).3
