Wolf Pack Weekly
ERM Agenda
Week of 9/22
Good Evening, Wolf Pack!
Trying out a different format for my weekly updates. Let me know if it's too much. Thank you for another week of learning at West High! I feel like I was a zombie all week after Homecoming Week. Much appreciation to those that came out and were a part of the festivities. We had injuries in our staff football game, we had beautiful floats, we had stressed out teachers, but it all came together and we made a great memory for these students. There were a few hiccups (please remind me NOT to plan for this to be so early in the year), but we persisted as we always do. Thank you to our advisors (and stepin advisors), supervisors, Keating, & Behnam for working so hard for our kiddos. I think I may have teared up a little with pride watching them walk down Central… and chanting P-A-C-K, GO Wolf Pack!
I added a discipline snapshot in one of the sections below. I think it's a good to see what is happening on campus, so we can all keep an eye out for any issues that our students may be dealing with.
We saw some great learning in the classrooms this week… Eventually, I will be adding a section of quick pix of lessons/ideas from classrooms that we visit on campus. The more I am trying this out.. the more ideas that come – and I get to try out what works – so I want your feedback, please!
This week’s ERM we will be having department meetings and a training for a new software program for English and Social Studies (Turnitin.com). This program is open for all teachers to use on our site, but I figured ELA and Social Studies can try it out first. If there are questions, then we will know who to go to. 😊
I have heard over and over again... this year is draining. And maybe it's because we were used to one way of teaching, schools shut down, so we had to learn a whole new method, and because we still aren't fully out of the pandemic, we are STILL trying to navigate through this craziness... I appreciate your patience with our students. Their mental health is suffering, just like some of our own ... I wish we could just reset everything, but maybe that's what this whole thing is. A HARD RESET. Start over. Adjust. a glitch happens, and reset and readjust. Thank you for persevering. I see you working
Thank you again for all you do.. You are appreciated.
