Theme of the Month: Thankfulness

Big picture

Closed for Thanksgiving

We will be closed Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 for Thanksgiving.

Daylight Savings

Don't forget to set your clocks back on Sunday, November 1.

Pajama Day--Roly Polys, Wiggleworms, Butterflies, and Busy Bees (see special note in Beehive section)

We would like to encourage your child to participate in a PJ Party, Monday, November 2nd!

After a busy weekend of Trick or Treating and Time Change, wake up and come in your Pajamas!

Items for Fall/Winter

As much as we hate to say it, it's time to start bringing winter clothing. Please make sure your child has gloves, hat and a winter jacket. Snow pants and boots are a must once the snow starts to fly, but some children also like them for warmth before the snow. Please make sure all items are well labeled.

We do take the children outside at least once a day. Our outdoor policy reads:

We try to go outside every day. We are not staffed to keep children inside when everyone else is outside. Please make sure your child has the proper clothing to go outside every day. Our policy in the winter is as follows: 15 degrees and below – Don’t go out

16 – 25 degrees – 30 minutes max. 26 degrees and above – Staff discretion

Free Winter Clothing

Does your child need some winter clothing? We have been informed of a couple events going on in the community.

Gunner's Light Foundation (for children ages 0-5) November 6-7, 13-14; 9am-5pm at The Holiday Inn Express & Suites 275 Treeline Rd. Call by November 3rd to ensure your child receives a winter bag: Summer 406-890-4169

Coats For Kids (for any age children)

Trinity Lutheran School Fall Book Fair

Trinity Lutheran School will be having their Fall Book Fair November 9-15. To help with social distancing, it will be in the Church Narthex this year. Each classroom will also have some fliers if you would like to browse through them first.

School Picture Re-take Opportunity

November 19

Swan Lake Studio will be at Trinity School on November 19th re-taking individual pictures of kids. If you missed the first opportunity, or would like to have pictures re-taken, please talk to your child's teacher. Ordering can be done online; or with an order form. You may have noticed that the order forms contained last year's information. If you are planning to order online, the correct code is 51639R.

Annual Thanksgiving Program

Due to the COVID situation we are going to cancel our Thanksgiving Lunch and Program this year. Prayerfully, things will be back to normal next year so we can resume this annual tradition.

Scholastic Book Orders

In anticipation of Christmas presents, we will be placing a Scholastic Book Order on November 20. You can order online with the code H76Y3 at scholastic.com/bookclubs. Make sure to search for Ms. Ream as the teacher.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

We will be offering Parent/Teacher Conferences for all children that attend 3 or more days each week. The conferences will be Thursday, December 3rd and Monday, December 7th. Watch for sign-up sheets later this month.

Kids Say the Darndest Things

One of the three year olds was moving from the Wiggleworm Room to the Butterfly Classroom. When his mom told him he responded, "I'm a man now, Mom."

Immunization Update

When your child receives new immunizations, please bring those records in to the office. We must keep immunizations up to date on all children. Our records are checked yearly to make sure all children are current. Thank you for your help in this matter.

COVID 19 POLICY REMINDERS

Effective June 1st, 2020

  • Masks must be worn by all parents upon entering the building
  • Hand Sanitizing Stations are set up outside each building, we request that parents sanitize before entering the facility.
  • Staff will be checking the temperatures of children and parents daily, as well as looking for overall signs of wellness.
  • Each child must wash their hands upon arrival
  • Any persons with a fever of 100 or higher will be required to be fever free without fever reducing medication for 72 hours after the fever breaks per the recommendation of the Health Department.
  • Any persons who are experiencing any respiratory symptoms such as a cough, runny nose, or shortness of breath should NOT be at the facility until the symptoms have resolved, the person has a negative result from a covid-19 test or proof that their primary care provider clears them to return. If there is any question if the person has COVID-19, they need to contact their primary care provider before returning to the facility.
  • In the case of a positive test result for any children or staff members, we will follow the guidelines set forth by Childcare Licensing and the Health Department

Cell Phone Carrier

Within our Procare System we have the ability to send out a text to all of the parents at one time. That was put into use to notify all of the parents for the recent closure in October. However, in order for this program to work we need to know your cell carrier. In reviewing our records, we do not have that information for some of you, or you may have changed your carrier. If you use a prepaid plan like Straight Talk or Tracfone, they use the towers from major carriers. We would need to know which carrier your plan uses as each company is known to use more than one. Please stop in the office and fill out a form, or send us an email with your cell phone number and the name of your carrier. Thank you for helping us to keep our records up to date so that you can be notified in this manner in the future.
