Important Notice to Parents and Employees
Administrators from Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) have been in constant contact with the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness (LMDPHW) about the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) (coronavirus) to ensure that we are taking all precautionary steps to prevent the spread of the virus.
There are no confirmed cases in Louisville or Jefferson County.

What You Need to Know
COVID-19 is a type of virus that causes diseases of varying severities, ranging from the common cold to more serious respiratory disease.
How is it spread?
· Coughing and sneezing
· Close personal contact, such as touching or shaking hands
· Touching an object or surface with the virus on it and then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes before washing your hands
What are the symptoms?
· Fever
· Cough
· Difficulty breathing
· Severe illness
What can I do?
· Wash your hands frequently.
· Help young students wash their hands well.
· Stay home when you are feeling ill, and consult with a medical professional.
· Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing.
· Avoid close contact with anyone with cold- or flu-like symptoms.
· If you have had close contact with someone exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms who has recently traveled, please reach out to a medical professional to determine if you need to be tested.
JCPS already has a Pandemic Viral Event Plan (PVEP) that details several steps the district is taking to protect students and staff. We want to keep you informed of our measures and answer any questions you may have.
It is important to note that the district will continue to work with local, state, and federal authorities. We encourage you to sign up for important alerts from JCPS through SchoolMessenger.

Last Call: Junior Ring & Junior Honors Ceremony
Juniors: 'Find Your Future' College Fair
Dear Parents/Guardians of Junior Students,
As the senior year of your child quickly approaches, it is now time to get serious about planning for life after high school. To help with this planning, JCPS is partnering with UPS and the University of Louisville to host a “Find Your Future” College Fair specifically for Juniors. This fair will have a variety of college and career recruiters available for students to visit, gather information, and ask specific questions about planning for their next step in high school.
The fair will take place for Louisville Male High School students on March 25th at 9:00 am. With your permission, your child will be transported to and from the fair. If you would like your child to participate, please sign the permission slip below and return to the Counseling Office in the Main Building of LMHS before March 12, 2020. Preference will be given to students who have submitted an RSVP via Google Form, officially Registered on the official website, and turned in the JCPS Field Trip Permission Form.
Seniors: LMHS Scholarship Information
Attention Seniors:
The window to apply for the LMHS scholarships is March 4th through March 25th. These scholarship awards are unique to the Male High community. Our Alumni Foundation, PTSA, Student Senate and other organizations, sponsor these scholarships just for members of the LMHS Class of 2020. These awards will be presented as part of the Senior Honors Ceremony in May.

Jean-Paul received his admission letter and the No Tuition Promise valued at $173,000 to Berea College. We are proud of you and excited to see what you will do after graduation!

Performance rating totals were 93 Distinguished, 3 Proficient, and 3 Apprentice.
We are very proud of all those who performed!

Semi-Final 1: 6:00 PM Ballard Bruins vs. St. Xavier Tigers
Semi-Final 2: 7:30 PM Male Bulldogs vs. Eastern Eagles
7th Region Finals are set for Tuesday, March 10th @ Valley H.S.

ASPEN Challenge Team Continues to Educate the LMHS Community!
LMHS Seniors Accepted in the Naval Academy and West Point!
Sharing from Major Meneghetti, LMHS Senior ROTC Instructor:
LMHS Senior Cadets Samuel Hosbach and Elijah Malone have both recently learned of their acceptance into West Point Academy. And, Senior Cadet Sean Oser learned of his acceptance into the US Naval Academy.
Major Meneghetti shared with these three acceptances, that brings a total of 19 cadets going to one of the military academies during his 19 years here at Louisville Male High School.
Hooah!!!
Congratulations to each of these young men and their families.
