Quiet as Mice

Monday and Tuesday mean STAAR testing for the 3rd graders in our hall. For 2nd grade, it means being really, really, really quiet so we don't disturb their concentration. I'm going to offer our class an incentive for these two days.

Since we have a 3rd grade room right next door, it makes it extra important for us to keep the noise down.

gold - if Mrs. Scott doesn't hear a peep from our room both days, we will have technology time, a movie and popcorn on Friday.

silver - if Mrs. Scott hears us less than 3 times both days, we will have technology time and popcorn on Friday.

off the podium - if Mrs. Scott hears us more than 3 times each day, we will lose our preferential seating. Everyone will go back to a regular desk in our classroom.

Please help remind them when you drop them off. Thanks so much!

Literacy Library Books

It's time to start searching the house for missing literacy library books. I will be sending home a list of books that your child has checked out. These are books prior to this week. The current books will not be on the list, since they should actively be reading them. I've included the date I checked out the book to them also, so you can see how long they have had it (it might help in the search). Remember, it will cost $10 to replace each book.

Teacher Appreciation Week

I felt SOOOO appreciated this week. Thank you to everyone for my surprises! I hope I was able to send a thank you not back to each of you. It was very kind of you to send me these tokens of appreciation. I wish I could send them back to you tenfold to thank you for sharing your children with me this year. I can't believe we have less than a month together! As I tell the kids, "Once a Smarty Panda, always a Smarty Panda." They will always have a place in my heart.
