We are off to a great start at Collins!

Teachers have focused on building a community in their classroom through our "family meetings" and developing social classroom contracts.

The students have done a great job at learning our routines for arrival, lunch, recess and dismissal. Thank you for your patience as we have adjusted to having twice the number of car riders at dismissal!

Teachers have begun to focus on reading and math instruction and establishing the learning routines with students for the classroom.

We are off to a great start and I'm so proud of all of teachers and Collins Kangaroos!

School Hours Reminder

Our school day is 7:30AM-2:45PM.

We appreciate your partnership in getting our students to school on time!

Students are considered tardy at 7:30AM. Beginning next week, students who are tardy will need to be checked in by an adult through the front office.

Outside Food

Due to Covid 19 and our district protocols, outside food such as cupcakes for student birthdays is not permitted at this time. If you would like, parents can coordinate with the classroom teacher for the birthday student to pass out a small item such as pencils and erasers. Please contact your student's teacher if you would like to do this.

Dismissal

Thank you to all our parents for adjusting to our new dismissal line up for car riders. We appreciate you lining up along Apogee Road as Finnial Road and Moonbeam Road (behind the school) remain closed.

Please make sure you have your student's car tag displayed in your dashboard at pickup. If you need an additional car tag, please visit our front office and present your ID to be issued a new one.

  • If you are going to change how your child goes home, please communicate this with the front office by 2:00PM
  • If you are going to pick your child up from school before dismissal, please pick them up no later than 2:30PM. To ensure the safety of our students and that everyone gets home, we will not pull students from classrooms after 2:30PM.
  • Parents are prohibited from pulling a student off the bus at dismissal.
  • Students will be released during the school day only to persons listed in Skyward.
