MXR News
Parental involvement and support are crucial for success. Many of you have heard about the accreditation process for Madison County Schools. Because of the impact of involved parents, this process includes a parent survey. The survey is anonymous. We are required to have at least 20% of our parents take the survey. We are currently a little shy of this amount. PLEASE take a few minutes to read this section below and follow the link. Your feedback is important to us.
We are excited to partner with Sparkman HS and play a more active role in bringing our family together. This year, we will participate in dress up days that go along with the themes during homecoming week at SHS. We will also sell our version of the homecoming t-shirts for $15. 100% of our profit will go toward a scholarship MXR will present to a former student who is graduating next Spring from Sparkman. We are SUPER excited about this so please participate if possible. We will be sending home order forms and the deadline to return the form with money is on Friday. There will be no orders taken after that time. The front of the shirt will look like the graphic above with the back saying "Future Sparkman Senator". Go Senators!! Check the list of dates below for the dress-up themes during homecoming week!
You may also notice on the calendar of events some dates for student council and SGA elections. This is something new to MXR. We will be talking to the students who are interested this week and will send home the requirements and expectations. We have so many awesome students at MXR and can't wait to give them meaningful input on how we can improve THEIR school!
Thanks for your support!! If you need anything, give me a call at (256) 851-4600 or send an e-mail to rorear@madison.k12.al.us.
Thanks and have a great day!!

VERY IMPORTANT!! WE ARE ABOUT 15 SURVEYS SHORT OF OUR GOAL!
FAMJAM UPDATES AND DATE CHANGE!
FAMJAM is basically a conference for parents. It will be held on October 1st, due to a conflict with SHS Homecoming. Please mark your calendars, this will be an awesome event!! We will have an opening session at 5:30 that will be high energy and lots of fun. Afterwards, parents will have thew opportunity to attend breakout sessions throughout the building. These sessions will run concurrently from 6:00-6:45 and repeat again from 7:00-7:45. Examples for breakout sessions may include Understanding DIBELS, How to Read ASPIRE home reports, Signing up for INOW Home Portal, Helping Your Child with Homework, etc. If you have particular topics you are interested in, please e-mail Mr. O'Rear @ rorear@madison.k12.al.us We want this event to help you and give your resources to help your child be more successful. You will also have an opportunity to sign up for the "Thinking Outside the Box" Initiative beginning in October. Hope to see you there!!
Car Rider Line
- Pull up as far as possible so we can unload the maximum amount of cars.
- If possible, have your child sitting on the correct side to exit.
- As you are approaching the drop off zone, start talking with your child about gathering
his/her things.
Afternoons are still crowded and at times we do have traffic on Pulaski Pike. The biggest thing that will help in the afternoons is to pull forward and close the gaps between cars. Please be mindful of this as we try to make the drop-off area as safe and efficient as possible.

MXR Social Media and Other Communication
One of the most effective ways to communicate, and it's usually the quickest is through the Remind App. It's a free app and no one can see your number. You will, however, receive texts informing you of the latest information. To sign up text to: 81010 and type @mxra in the message box. It's that easy!!
You can also go to our district website and sign up on LISTSERV. This is an e-mail service.
One last way we communicate is through the use of SchoolMessenger. You may have received a call last week about the water leak. Please be certain all your contact information is correct.
We hope we have provided a few ways for you to gather information about MXR. If you have any suggestions, please let us know!
