Enrollment Information
The Sun Prairie Area School District has a simple process for transferring 4K students into 5K for the next school year. Students already in SP4K will automatically be enrolled in 5K at the assigned elementary school based on the current home address (see map). Families who are Open Enrolled into an SP4K program will be contacted by our Business Office about plans for 2020-21. If your child currently does not attend a Sun Prairie 4K site and plans to attend 5K, be sure to begin with the Enrolling Students page and go to "Begin the Enrollment Process" for instructions. CENSUS 2020
The census is HERE! Last week, invitations to respond to the 2020 Census hit mailboxes. You can respond online or by phone. Your personal information is kept confidential. By responding, you are informing where over $675 billion is distributed each year to communities nationwide for clinics, schools, roads, and more. We need your help to get everyone counted. Take the pledge to be counted!
Tip Line Entry
New Electronic Safety Tip Line
The safety and security of our students and staff is a top priority for the district. We have been teaching our students to say something to a trusted adult when they see something unsafe. Sometimes, though, there are barriers to reporting safety issues in person. Tip lines are one common approach that schools use to promote school and student safety and well-being. Tip lines are designed to provide students or other members of the public with a safe and confidential way to report a threat to a student or school safety.
To that end, we have created an Electronic Safety Tip Line available on the district website. The e-Tip Line allows students, parents, or community members to report weapons, threats of violence, bullying, sexual harassment, threat of suicide, drugs, and any other activity that could potentially endanger students, staff, and property.
We are developing a communication plan to roll this out to students in upper elementary, middle school, and high school. The e-Tip Line is available on the district website from the “Families” menu and “Quicklinks” and can also be found on the district bullying and safety webpages. If a student wishes to file a bullying report, that Fillable Bullying Report Form is also available on the website.

Appendix A Notice to Parents and Staff Members Regarding Student Discrimination and Harassment
No student may be discriminated against or harassed because of his or her sex, color, religion, profession or demonstration of belief or non-belief, race, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, homelessness status, sexual orientation or disability.
Any school employee observing, overhearing or otherwise witnessing discrimination or harassment that may be unlawful, or to whom such acts are reported, must take prompt and appropriate action to stop the discrimination or harassment and to prevent its recurrence.
In the event that a school employee is unable to personally take appropriate action to stop the discrimination or harassment or to prevent its recurrence, the employee will report the incident or complaint in writing to the principal or designated student complaint facilitator.
If the discrimination or harassment involves a district employee, it must be reported to the building or the district administrator. The administrator will notify the parent(s) of the incident. A discrimination or harassment report form will be completed by the administrator and forwarded to the Human Resources Department.
Any student or parent who believes that unlawful discrimination or harassment of a student has occurred shall inform the principal or the designated student complaint facilitator.
Any student who believes that he or she has been the target of unlawful discrimination or harassment shall bring his or her complaint to the attention of the principal or the school’s designated complaint facilitator. Any student or parent who believes that any corrective action taken by a school employee was ineffective shall bring their complaint to the attention of one of the designated complaint facilitators. The complaint may be made either orally or in writing. The following are this school’s designated complaint facilitators:
Craig Coulthart – Principal – 834-7401
Nicole Rairden – Social Worker – 834-7462
Steve Rubin – Guidance Counselor – 834-7409
If a designated complaint facilitator is the person alleged to be engaged in the discrimination or harassment, the complaint shall be filed with one of the alternative complaint facilitators or sent to the District Administrator, Sun Prairie Area School District, 501 South Bird Street, Sun Prairie, WI 53590.
Copies of the school district's entire policy and procedure regarding Student Discrimination and Harassment (JB and JB-R) are available in the school office and the district website: www. Sunprairieschools.org
STATEMENT OF NONDISCRIMINATION
No student may be unlawfully discriminated against in any school programs, activities or in facilities usage because of the student’s sex (gender identity, gender expressions, and non-conformity to gender role stereotypes), color, religion, profession, or demonstration of belief or non-belief, race, national origin (including limited English proficiency), ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, homelessness status, sexual orientation, age, or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability. Harassment is a form of discrimination and shall not be tolerated in the District. It is the responsibility of administrators, staff members and all students to ensure that student discrimination or harassment does not occur. (SPASD District Policy JB)
