Dear Galena Park I.S.D. Stakeholders,


Please allow me to begin by expressing my appreciation to each of you for the patience and cooperation you have shown in this time of our unprecedented global health crisis. As you may already know, earlier today, Governor Abbott held a press conference and extended the closure of all Texas schools until Monday, May 4, 2020.


I would like to repeat to all of you, Galena Park I.S.D. will remain closed until it is safe to reopen. However, we will continue to provide instruction for students as well as curbside-pickup Grab-and-Go meals.


Please know, the safety of our students, staff, and community is the most important responsibility we have, and we will do everything in our power to assist in the national fight against the spread of the COVID-19 virus. All campuses, transportation services, and the Galena Park I.S.D. Administration Building will remain closed until the schools reopen. The District will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.


Please continue to refer to our official Galena Park I.S.D. website, Blackboard ParentLink, Facebook, Twitter, or our local media partners for updates. Again, thank you for your continued support as Galena Park I.S.D. remains committed to the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community.

Paper Packet Distribution to End April 14, 2020

The next paper packet pick up for students who do not have access to an electronic device will be Monday, April 6, 2020.


The final distribution of paper packets of instructional materials will be TUESDAY, April 14, 2020. Please note, this is not the usual day of packet distribution due to the Easter holiday. This distribution will include enough materials to cover the rest of the school year.


Thank you for your patience and support as we have worked to ensure all of our students have the tools they need to be successful with online learning.


Parents, if you need to check out a Chromebook (laptop computer) for your child(ren) to participate in online learning, please complete and submit the form in the section above, entitled "Chromebook (Laptop Computer) Check Out."
