"Music Counts Every Day" at HES - The music this week is composed by Mozart and is sometimes called Nacht Music or Night Music.
This week the music is by Mozart, who was an Austrian composer who lived at the same time as Beethoven. The music is played by another section of the orchestra that makes the sounds in a similar way to the group we heard last week.
The music has also been arranged for string instruments.
It was written in 1782, and is sometimes called Nacht Music or Night Music.
Again the question is 'Which section of the orchestra plays this music?'
The clue is also the same - it is NOT the name of an instrument.
Correct answers will earn 2 water drops, bubbles.........

Destination Imagination (DI) Teams started at HES and coached by Mrs. Smith
HES is happy to announce that we are forming Destination Imagination teams! Due to the overwhelming response to the program, in addition to a competitive team of 3rd and 4th graders, the PTO has offered to fund a second non-competitive team of 2nd grade students. Applications are now closed for this season, but hopefully we will be able to do it again next year.
Team members will be contacted over the weekend, and information will go home in backpacks on Monday. Teams will be meeting starting Tuesday December 13th BEFORE school at 7:45. Meeting location will be provided in your team information.

Lindsey Asack-Branchut - 4th Grade Classroom Teacher
Although I am not originally from Cape Cod I spent my summers in Dennis and many of my childhood summer memories include long beach days on Mayflower, Corporation and Cold Storage beaches! I grew up on the south shore and graduated from Duxbury High School in 1999. After graduation I moved to Newport, RI where I attended Salve Regina University and majored in Elementary Education and Art. I loved going to school in such a beautiful setting like Newport! I graduated from Salve in 2003 and started teaching right away in the Brockton Public Schools. I worked there for 4 years where I taught fourth, fifth and sixth grades. In 2007 I felt so lucky to start teaching fifth grade in Harwich. This was also the year that I received my master's degree in Elementary Education. The following year I moved from fifth to fourth grade and have been teaching in the same classroom ever since! This is my fourteenth year teaching and I enjoy being a part of Monomoy Regional Schools. My husband and I live in Harwich with our ten-month old son. We enjoy spending time with family and friends and beach days on Cape Cod!
Lisa McManamin - 4th Grade Classroom Teacher
Mary Crowley - 4th Grade Classroom Teacher
My name is Mary Crowley. I have been teaching at Harwich Elementary School for thirteen years. I began my career here as a Third Grade teacher, and then worked as a Second Grade teacher, but for the past ten years I have been teaching Fourth Grade. Prior to moving to Harwich, I taught for five years in two elementary schools on Martha’s Vineyard. I have a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Lowell, and a Masters degree in Reading from Bridgewater State College. All three of my children graduated from the Harwich/Monomoy school district. When I am not at school, I enjoy traveling, biking, reading, spending time with my family and working on my knitwear designs.
Thanks to all that made this year's Holiday Bazaar a success!
