SAS Update
October 16, 2020
Let's celebrate Mass together at a safe social distance outside! Cars may enter through the 181st Street entrance (near the back of church) beginning at 5:30 p.m. Please wear a mask and remain in your vehicle. Tune your radio to 89.9 FM for the broadcast. Hand sanitizer and Communion will be brought to you in your car. No worries if you didn't pre-register! Your information will be taken as you enter the lot (we have to do this for contact tracing purposes).
Don't Forget to Order Your TRIP!
MONDAY, OCTOBER 19
Did you know you can earn money off your tuition by purchasing gift cards for the places where you already shop? We have families who routinely earn $1000 per year! Print your order form and/or registration form from the links attached herein or order online (new this year!). Simply visit www.shopwithscrip.com, and click on the Join a Program button. Our enrollment code is 34DA3E253142. Enter the code, and then click Register. Next you will set up your user name and password, and fill in your account information.
On Tuesday, the Boy Scouts of Troop 276 will be visiting us to change out our American flag. The flag flies all the time and has suffered some wear and tear after weathering several seasons. We have a new one waiting to take its place, and the Scouts are well-versed in the protocol of respectfully lowering, changing, raising and retiring these revered symbols of our nation. The ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the flag pole between the school and Fr. Mark’s residence, if you would care to join us. Please plan to wear a mask and observe social distance.
Dress Code Q&A
Q: Now that the weather is changing, can my student wear boots to school?
A: Of course your student may wear boots to and from school and even on the playground! However, boots are not appropriate for in-school wear (rain boots, winter boots, UGG-style boots, hiking boots, etc.), so your student must change into uniform shoes (or gym shoes on Wednesdays) while in school.
School Picture Day Rescheduled!
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29
Please have your students dress in Sunday best attire. Order forms came home this week and should be PREPAID only to protect students and staff. You can easily order and pay online by visiting the Van Gogh School Photographers website. Our School Code is 20031601. Or you may call 847-382-2282 x7 and use that same code. Then there's no need to send anything else with your children on Picture Day--well except for their smiles, of course!
Supper Club at Gayety's
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29
Fall is here! But that doesn't mean you can't still have ice cream--you deserve a treat, and Gayety's is here to provide it! Come in for a spooky Halloween creation (or some plain delicious vanilla) on October 29 between Noon & 9:00 p.m., turn in the St. Ann voucher or show it on your phone, and our friends at the Gayety's will donate back 10% of all St. Ann supporters’ dine in and carry-out purchases. You can enjoy your treat in the shop, at a pleasant outdoor table, or in the comfort of your own home. Please tell your friends! There is a Facebook event for easy sharing. Download and print your vouchers here.
