Where the Adventure Begins...
Happy Friday!
I hope everyone is staying warm today! This crazy weather has definitely brought some flu to us. Please check for an email from us that we sent earlier this week about that. We have had some students with confirmed cases, but thankfully not many. But if your child is not feeling well and beginning to exhibit any flu symptoms, please keep them home so we can help prevent the spreading of germs. Our wonderful custodial department will be here this weekend to do a deep cleaning of our building with a new process. They are using a special system that will disinfect all surfaces AND airborne germs! We are so grateful for their willingness to work overtime to help us keep our sweet babies healthy.
Don't forget that we do not have school Monday, January 15th as that is Martin Luther King day! Try to stay warm this weekend. I know I plan to spend lots of time at home with my girls enjoying a nice fire and all the good snuggles! See you all back on Tuesday!

We Want You!
We are hoping to have some parents volunteer about 20 minutes of their time to help us at our two arrival times each day. Having the extra hands to open doors and helps students out of the cars would definitely speed up our carpool lanes!
If you would consider helping us out, just click this link. It will take you to a Google Form with all the details and you can submit your interest. Thank you for considering!
I Want to Hear From You!!
Many of you have posted comments, suggestions or questions on my Parent Padlet. Thank you! It is one of the ways for me to stay connected with you and allows other parents to see your questions. You never know when someone else is wondering the same thing. The cool thing is that it is completely anonymous! So post away and I will be sure to respond.
Just click on this link and you're on your way!

Whether your preschooler is an only child or one with siblings, they are a big part of your family. Within your family each person has a role to cooperate and the ability to give and take. When we teach our children to work toward a common good, we help them to have positive character and values.
We can teach our children about social interest with day to day chores and by participating in volunteer work. Sit down with your child and together create a ‘to do’ list of chores. Have the child choose which ones he or she can do independently. (Supervise when necessary and use common sense when using cleaning products or assigning tasks). Then, let them be involved in the evaluation process of the completed chore(s). Keep in mind are we must teach ‘how to’ part first when assigning chores, and it’s a good idea to vary the jobs so the child does not get bored from time to time.
The goal is to teach social responsibility. Do not expect cleaning to be done as an adult would do. Our preschoolers will likely not work as quickly and quietly as we’d like, and criticizing will likely discourage your child. Rather than worrying about an overlooked smudge, accept that your child is an active member of a family where all members work, communicate, and care for one another.
