Back to School Forms
Dear Garland ISD Families:
Our technology team has been working diligently with Laserfiche to resolve difficulties processing back-to-school forms. Unfortunately, the company is unable to resolve their software’s technical failure. As a result, forms will be processed via Skyward Family Access. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration.
Due to this unfortunate circumstance, all families must complete back-to-school forms in Skyward Family Access. To complete the back-to-school forms process, parents will need to log in to Skyward. For details, see the Completing Back-to-School Forms in Skyward webpage. For assistance or questions, please review FAQs on our website or email Familyaccesshelp@garlandisd.net.
As a reminder, the back-to-school form completion process does not impact your student’s enrollment or schedule. Your child will not lose placement at their assigned campus. Your child’s schedule will be available for viewing before school starts on Monday, Aug. 2. We appreciate your patience and look forward to welcoming you on the first day of school.
First Day of School: August 2!
- GISD hours for elementary campuses are from 8:10-3:30.
- Doors open at 7:30. Free breakfast and lunch are available for all students. Children who eat breakfast at school should arrive between 7:30-8:00.
Dismissal Procedures
- Parents will be given numbered tags to display in their vehicle's window upon arriving in the pick-up lane at the front of the building.
- Walk-up parents must also display their numbered tags in order for their children to be released prior to 3:25 when walkers are released from classrooms. (We prefer that parents who pick up their children from school remain in cars instead of walking up to the building.)
- Parents picking up students after 3:40 must show proper ID in the office in order for their child to be released.
