Planning a Party Project
By Patrick Acosta
Burger Bonanza
Burger Bonanza charges $10 per person and a $20 one-time charge fee. For the graph, we I found how much money it cost for 0,50,100,150,200,and 250 people.
Pizza Palace
Pizza Palace charges $9.25 per person plus $61.25 for one-time charge fee. For the graph we also found how much it would cost for 50,100,150,200, and 250 people.
Questions
1.Describe how created each equation
Depending on how many students actually show up for Burger Bonanza, they charge a one time $20 fee plus $10 per person so I wrote that into an equation. For Pizza Palace, they charge $9.25 per person plus a one time fee of $61.25 so I wrote an equation for Pizza Palace also.
2.Will there ever be a number where both companies cost the same?
Yes(well at 0) both will eventually be at the same price.
3.If you have a budget of $1000 for food what is the maximum amount of people that you can afford money for?
For Burger Bonanza, you can could have enough food for 98 people because 98x10(cost per student) is $980 plus the catering fee(one time charge fee) get exactly $1000 exactly. For Pizza Palace, you can afford food for 101 people because 101x9.25(student cost)plus the one time fee it equals $995.5 and that is the closest you can get to $1000.
Proposed Plan
According to the graph and data, Pizza Palace seems to be the best deal when you have a maximum amount of people. But if you have a minimum amount of people showing up for the party, Burger Bonanza would probably be the better deal rather than Pizza Palace. So I think that Pizza Palace is probably better to pay rather than Burger Bonanza.
Hoppin' Around
Hoppin' Around charges $75 for every hour you rent the bounce house. For the graph, we found how much it cost to rent the bounce houses for 0,2,4,6,8,or 10 hours.
Jumpin' Jack's Bounce Houses
Jumpin' Jack's Bounce Houses charges $54 an hour for how long you rent the bounce houses plus a setup and removal fee of $84.
Questions
1.Describe how you created each equation.
For Hoppin' Around, you have to pay $75 per hour and so I put y=75x for the equation for Hoppin' Around and for Jumpin' Jack's Bounce Houses, you have to pay $84 for a setup and removal fee plus $50 for every hour so I put y=54x+84 for my equation for Jumpin' Jack's Bounce Houses.
2.Will there ever be a number where both companies will cost the same?
At 4 hours, they will both be at the same price.
3.If you have a budget of $750 for the bounce houses, how much hours maximum can you rent the bounce houses for each company?
You can rent Hoppin' Around's bounce houses for 4 hours because it ends up at exactly $750 and for Jumpin' Jack's Bounce Houses, you can rent the bounce house for 12 hours because it is the closest to $750.
Proposed Plan
In the table, Jumpin' Jack's Bounce Houses is the better deal but Hoppin' Around is better for the minimum amount time that you rent the bounce house. For 4 hours they are both the better deal. Renting the bounce house for more than 4 hours makes Jumpin' Jack's Bounce Houses the better deal in comparison to Hoppin' Around.
