Late Yearbook Orders
The PTO is accepting late yearbook orders. The extra books will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. In order to have your name put on the list, you will need to pay for the book. The price of the yearbook is $20.00, and checks should be made payable to TCE PTO. Checks will be returned if there isn't a book available. Please contact me if you are unsure if you have ordered a book.
Young Author Books
Young Author books will be sent home next Friday, May 1st. We are sharing them with Mrs. Potter's 1st grade class on Monday and other second graders next week!
Bottle Caps for Buddy Benches
Please remember that we are no longer collecting bottle caps for the Buddy Benches. A big thanks to those who sent them in this year!

We are Learning...
Reading: We will continue our unit on becoming experts through reading nonfiction! Students will use comprehension strategies and informational text features to understand informational texts. We will learn how to compare and contrast information from different sources on the same topic and deepen our understanding by asking questions.
Math: We will begin our unit on money!! We will practice counting real money. Next up...measurement. Students will be measuring objects using nonstandard and standards units of measure.

Science: We will plant wheatgrass seeds on Monday! We will also begin a new unit on life cycles. Next week we will be getting chicken eggs and we will watch them through their life cycle!!! The kids are SUPER EXCITED!!! We will also be focusing on the life cycles of of other plants and animals. We will observe the changes in plants and animals throughout their life cycles including details of their body plan, structure and timing of growth, reproduction and death.
