Jackson the Zero
Why he is not a hero
The Indian Removal Act
Early in the 19th century, while the growing in the US expanded in the lower south while settlers faced hard times. Jackson believed that the Indians should move west for the whites. He used Congress to help with the Indian removal act ion 1830's. Indians soon decide to give us their land in the east and get some from the west. The Indians began their journey in the "Trail of tears" and 4,000 people died from sickness and the cold weather on the way to the western lands.
Jackson's Election and Inauguration
The 1828 Jackson ran for the 7th president and he became part of the American folktale and all of his supporters went to his excessive mansion. Jackson's was the first to take place in the white house other than Washington. Lots of people had sides between him either he was a hero or not a hero and the hated him. Before and after Jackson bowed to the crowd.
Jackson and The National Bank
The National bank was established during Washington's presidency. Jackson did not like the national bank at all and he also feels that they were unconstitutional and only favoring the wealthy. Jackson used veto as the power to bill the national bank. I think Jackson was not right to close the bank and that it was hurting the economy. Jackson felt that the bank was evil and his choice was correct to shut the bank down.
