Sneak Peek of the Week!
Tomorrow our schools will be closed as we pause to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Please note the following upcoming events:
Friday September 30th-
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Schools will be closed.
We encourage students and families to attend the event that St. Mary's is hosting in partnership with the Sexsmith Secondary School and the Town of Sexsmith. Find us on Main Street from 11:00am-12:00pm at our school Teepee as we gather together to recognize the harm that Canada's residential school system had and continues to have, on generations of Indigenous families and communities.
-Good luck to our Saints Volleyball teams who will be competing in the Beaverlodge tournament!
Saturday October 1st-
Volleyball tournament continues in Beaverlodge. Go Saints Go!
Sunday October 2nd
-All are invited to attend Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church beginning at 11:00am. Join us after Mass for the first monthly Student Art Show, with art work created by our grade 8 and 9 students showcasing the Holy Spirit. The CWL will be providing snacks during the art show.
Monday October 3-
Staff Meeting. All students will be dismissed at 2:30pm. Please ensure that students know their safe plan to get home at that time.
-St. Mary's Thanksgiving Food Drive begins! Consider donating not-expired non-perishable food items for the Sexsmith and Area Food Bank. The class that brings in the most items by Wednesday October 12th will win a pizza party!
Wednesday October 5th
-Grade 4 are off to Evergreen Park for a day of outdoor learning! Please ensure students are prepared for the day with appropriate outdoor clothing, food and water.
Thursday October 6th
Orders for our first "MunchALunch" hot lunch of the year, Pizza Hut, are due by midnight! Orders must be placed online, and can be paid for online or in the office. Visit https://munchalunch.com/schools/StMarysAB/ to place your orders for October!
Friday October 7th- Join us for our Thanksgiving Prayer Service at 9:30am in the school gym, hosted by our junior high classes. We are grateful for our Saints family, and encourage each of you reach out and express gratitude to someone who brings joy, hope and value to your life!
-Happy World Teacher's Day! We are Blessed and so grateful to have the talented and loving teaching staff that we have at St. Mary's!

Coats For Kids Service Project
Consider donating gently used winter wear of all sizes including washable winter coats, snow pants, toques, scarves and mittens of all sizes. This program cannot accept boots, wool, leather or badly damaged items. Donations can be dropped off at the school until October 14th.

Munch-A-Lunch Hot Lunch Program
Our first Munch-A-Lunch will be the ever popular Pizza Hut! Parents/ guardians can log in to order and pay for lunch before October 6th, with lunch to be served on Friday October 20th! Click the image below to log in with your existing information or create a new account. Please be sure to update existing accounts with student's current grade.
Student Yearly Enrollment Verification
Grande Prairie and District Catholic Schools will be sending the 2022-23 Student Yearly Enrollment Verification Form home to all parents via email.
These forms are required every year by Alberta Education and it is also very important to have our records up to date. Please take the time to complete your student's verification form.

2. Bottom left menu click icon named "School Engage"
3. In left menu click "Students'
4. Click the name of your student
5. On right you will see a list of available online forms. Please select Student Yearly Enrollment Verification 2022-2023 first. Complete each numbered page and Submit

SCHOOL FEES
St. Mary's does not charge base fees for the academic year, however, certain programming does have fees attached.
Fees for our Pre-K and Kinder+ program are due at the beginning of each month.
Junior High Options have been invoiced and emailed to guardians. Please note that statements reflect fees for the whole year, however, only fees associated with Term 1 are now past due.
Extra Curricular and sports teams also have fees attached, and are due before the first event for each team. Volleyball and Cross Country fees are now past due.
Fees can easily be paid online through the PowerSchool Parent portal, or in person in the office. Please don't hesitate to contact the office if you have any questions or would like to make arrangements for payment.
