PARCC will take place May 1-9!
This is the first time third grade students will participate in the PARCC. Allow time for students to familiarize themselves with the tools, structure and types of questions on PARCC. Be sure to explore the Equation Editor and the new Drawing Tool!
Don't forget about the Go Math Lesson Resource guide!
This collection is truly unbelievable! The vast resources accumulated here will support instruction through the Ideal Math Lesson. Looking for an interactive division game to support the next focus? Check out "Hit the Button" on the Math Resource Doc in Chapter 7. Looking for an engaging video to grab learners as they explore time and measurement? Check out the "Engage" column for Chapter 11 for numerous quick video clips. As always, please feel free to share great ideas, videos or activities with tindallm@middletownk12.org or any building Elementary Math Specialist.
Never Say Anything a Kid Can Say!
Teachers aim for students to meet success and feel successful. With the right intentions, it is sometimes easy to fall into bad habits; helping too much, telling too much. Recommendations for the Summer
It's that time of year when teachers and students are dreaming about summer. Students have made tremendous progress and summer is a great time to maintain their growth. Remind students (and parents) they have access to their DreamBox account all summer long! Sending home a reminder with log in instructions and school codes would be helpful.
In addition, here are a couple of other websites to encourage students to continue to experience math over the summer months.
Thanks for reading this newsletter!
