BHA Update
January 8, 2023
ِِAssalamu Alaikum Dear BHA Families!
It was a beautiful first week after the break filled with excitement, fun, and learning! We thank all our parents and students for respecting all the school policies, including uniform, and making efforts to arrive at school on time, masha’Allah. AG drop-off and pick-up went smoothly, alhumdulillah, and we appreciate your cooperation and help in making it possible.
Special thank you to our staff and teachers for always being there to help and assist our students.
Please read on for important announcements and information. We look forward to continued growth and progress this year, insha’Allah.

Thank You, Student Council!
Doughnuts were a sweet welcome back treat but it was the student council’s game centers in the Allied Gardens courtyard that were the highlight. Ping pong tables, chess, board games and UNO kept students and teachers busy during recess on rainy days, and dry ones too.
Sports Day - Allied Gardens Campus
To celebrate the end of the first semester, the Students Council and the NSTEM Chapter will be organizing a Community Sports Day for the 4th - 12th grade students and parents at AG Campus on Thursday, January 26.
Parents are invited to come enjoy our students competing while socializing with other BHA families. Activities and games schedule will be sent in later updates, insha’Allah.
Parent volunteers are needed for this big day; therefore, please join our valuable community of volunteers!
School Wide Spelling Bee (Middle School)
We wish all the best to students competing in the school wide bee this Tuesday, January 10th! May Allah SWT guide them and help them to benefit from their hard work and knowledge in this world and the next!
One winner will emerge from the school wide bee to compete in the San Diego County Bee in March, insha’Allah, as the Bright Horizon Academy representative!
NSTEM After School Program
We would like to remind everyone that Friday, January 13, 2023, is the final day of the NSTEM After School program. On the same day, we will also provide the following make-up sessions:
Robotics and Minecraft, 2:00-2:45 PM
Math Olympiad, Art, and Chess, 2:45-3:30 PM
Basketball Winter League, Boys (6th-12th)
We are excited to announce that BHA will be participating in the San Diego Sol Basketball winter season. Our student athletes will engage in endurance training, skill development, and learn both the fundamental and advanced schemes of the game. Through basketball, they also learn teamwork, dedication, and discipline, as well as a variety of other life skills that allow our teens to mature into young adults. With the guidance of our leaders, we hope our youth gain the confidence they need to become walking examples of Islam.
The deadline to sign up for the basketball team is Friday, January 20. If you haven't already, click the link below to join.
