Electronic Devices - Phones
We have noticed that students are wearing smart watches in school. As a reminder from the student handbook on page 23, please see the procedure and accompanying MGL on use of devices in school.
ELECTRONIC DEVICE USE/CELL PHONE USE/ CAPTURING PHOTO AND VIDEO IMAGES/LAPTOPS
"Students are not allowed to capture photos, voice recordings, or video images of any person(s) in the school building at any time. This includes film and digital cameras, laptops, the video component of a video phone, photo or video recorders, or through the use of any other technology used to capture photos or record video images. Exceptions can be made for students fulfilling the requirements of an activity assigned by a teacher.
The secret use of sound or videotaping devices is illegal (MA General Law Chapter 272 section 99). Videotaping or sound recording a class or individual without the permission of everyone involved is a criminal offense with severe penalties. Students engaging in such activities will be subject to disciplinary action. The inappropriate use of a video or picture cell phone is prohibited at all times; and may also be subject to the Cyber Harassment Policy.
All personal devices must be stored in backpacks and accessed only with permission of the educator for educational purposes. Personal devices are the responsibility of the student to keep safe and operational"

Join us for our very first PTO meeting of the year, this Thursday, 9/15 @ 6pm in the Willett Library. Meet our Board members, be the first to hear what's planned for the year ahead and share your input 🐳 Light snacks and refreshments included. Hope to see you there!
A few of quick announcements:
Meadow Farms Fundraiser
We are very excited to be bringing back the Meadow Farms fundraiser! You will see information packets coming home with your student in the coming weeks. We raised over $5,000 last year and hope to meet or beat that goal this year!
The money raised this year will be supporting the following Willett PTO sponsored initiatives:
- Someone Special Dance (Winter 2023)
- Buses for class field trips
- Grade-level enrichment programs
- Additional community-building events like the Willett Meat and Treat
- And more!
In addition to the Meadow Farms prizes, the PTO will also be doing weekly raffles for student participants.
Fall Festival Planning and Classroom Raffles
Planning for our upcoming Fall Festival is in full swing. We have so many fun things in the works including an amazing raffle. We have asked each class to donate a themed raffle basket. Keep an eye out for a letter coming your way regarding your child’s classroom themed raffle basket. Anything you may be able to contribute (big or small) is greatly appreciated!
Interested in volunteering? We can use as many hands as possible! Reach out to us at willettptopres@gmail.com or stay tuned for a sign-up genius coming out soon.
