Week 7 - 10/15/2018: Monthly PBIS focus is SAFETY
Don't forget our McTeacher Night event this Wednesday from 5-8PM. It will be a ton of fun and I hope to see you there!
There was a great turn out at our "Screenagers" screening last week! So good in fact that there will likely be another showing after the first of the year. The movie really spoke to research around people, with a focus on kids, use of cell phones and technology and how it effects the brain and development. Definitely good things to know!
Welcome to our newest teacher, Molly Drenner! Molly will be teaching a 4th, 5th, and 6th grade math block during the middle of the school day. She met groups of students today and will start with full math blocks tomorrow. Because she is here during the middle of the day, I don't know when we'll have a chance for parents to meet her until conferences. Feel free to reach out via email or phone, and definitely see her photo below!
Mrs. Worthington just finished her first week with kids and things are going great! She is prepared to meet parents next Thursday, Oct. 25, from 3-5 PM for parents that can stop by. I will be at a training that goes until 5 so I will not be available, but she is looking forward to meeting those of you that can come. Her photo is below as well:)
Our next PTO meeting is this Thursday, Oct. 18, at 8AM. Our new president, Waritha Powell will be introduced and there are a lot of upcoming events to discuss, so please come if you can! One of the events that will be discussed is the book fair for next week and we need volunteers! Our Right Brain Residency is approaching quickly as well! I will be sending out a schedule with a link to sign up very soon, so please watch for that.
If you ordered shirts from "Spirit and Pride", they should be in by next week! Sorry it's taken so long, but I know you are going to love your shirts!
That should do it for now. Have a great week!
