Panorama SEL Student Survey This Week
One of our core values at Thompson and in District 303 is to create safe and secure learning communities where all members demonstrate respect, responsibility and good citizenship. One tool Thompson, along with District 303, has adopted is the Panorama Survey. This survey focuses on the following areas:
Self-Management
Emotional Regulation
Social Awareness
Grit
Self Efficacy
Sense of Belonging
Teacher-Student Relationship
This past Wednesday, students took this survey during their tutorial time. This survey is used to help better inform school-wide practices. Students will complete this survey again in the spring to allow for progress monitoring. If a screening shows that a student will benefit from additional skill development, parents will be contacted and will work in collaboration with school staff to problem-solve and determine next steps.
Additional information about this screener and other assessments in District 303 may be found here which is a letter from Mr. David Chiszar, Executive Director of Assessment and Accountability. This information has been shared in the past several Thompson Friday Forecasts. Additional information can also be found on the SEL Survey Page, embedded in our District’s website.
Please feel free to contact Lindsay Mortensen, Assistant Principal, if you have any questions.
Physical Education Reminder
Cooler weather is beginning to creep in. Please be aware that our PE classes will use outdoor instructional space if the weather permits and the temperature is 40 degrees or above. Please remind your son or daughter to have a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt at school to be worn during their PE class. They are encouraged to be worn on the colder days ahead.
Enjoy your weekend!
Steve
The Pick-A-Time portal for conferences will close on October 3rd at midnight. Once the portal closes, parents will not be able to schedule a time for these conference dates.
2022 Meals and Snacks During Conferences
Please help us show our gratitude to our amazing Thompson Staff! The staff will be working long hours during Parent-Teacher Conferences, so the PTO would like to provide them with drinks, snacks, and dinner. This year we are arranging a taco bar with all the toppings, sides, as well as desserts for 120-160 staff members.
Staff Meals and Snacks Sign Up Genius Link Donations should be delivered to the Thompson office before 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 6, 2022. Monetary donations can also be made through PushCoin here.

Lost and Found Tables
Our lost and found areas are already filling up! We counted 50 water bottles this morning. Please encourage your child to check the tables by the cafeteria or the table in the PE hallway to see if anything belongs to him/her! We will be donating these items after Parent/Teacher conferences.
Donations for the TMS Health Office
On occasion, students come to the Health Office and need more than an ice pack or a band-aide. While we keep a limited supply on hand, we do need to replenish these items periodically. We would appreciate your donations. Please drop them off in the main office through Door 1.
Thank you for your generosity!
