David's Law- September 1, 2017 (Bullying Update)
This summer, the state has passed a new bill in regards to bullying which goes into effect today. Much of this redefined bullying legislation affects us as educators and how we identify, prevent, and handle occurrences of bullying. Next week we’ll hold grade level PLCs during Wolf Time to inform you about what is being called David’s Law. On your designated day you will send your students to the Black Gym for Wolf Time and you’ll report to the library for information about the new law. In the gym we’ll have part of our administrative team talk to students about the new bullying law and other important issues that pertain to them.
6th Grade PLC- Tuesday 9/5
7th Grade PLC- Wednesday 9/6
8th Grade PLC- Thursday 9/7
Emergency Drill Reminders
- Lock your doors and turn off the classroom lights before leaving the room.
- Have your class rosters printed off (including Wolf Time) and place them with a copy of your partner’s rosters in your orange emergency bag. The emergency buddy list will be sent this afternoon.
- When you get to the football field, take attendance by student names. Some people just counted the students and matched that number with the number on the roster.
- TAKE ATTENDANCE THROUGHOUT THE DAY…EVERY PERIOD.
- If you have a student in your line that is not on your roster then let an administrator know so we don’t spend unnecessary time looking for that student.
