Facts about the Platypus
Platypus, or duckbill, lives in Australia. It lays eggs but is a mammal! It is weird looking, with a duck's bill, otter feet, beaver tail. They live and breed in fresh water and find their prey by sensing their electric field!
An interesting thing about them is that they have a poison spike on their back foot with venom strong enough to hurt a human!
They live about 15-20 years, are about a foot and a half long, weigh between 15-20 lbs and can move at 22 mph! They have brown, grey or black fur and have 2 babies in a liter.
They prey on shrimp, fish eggs and insects, and are preyed on by snakes, foxes and crocodiles.
