MMA Montessori Moments

April 13-17 Distance Learning Continues

A Message from our Interim Director, Mr. Mike

Dear Parents and Students,

I am so grateful to each of you for accepting the current situation we have had thrust on us. You have met the challenges of transitioning to a home instruction environment. You have worked with teachers to insure the continuation of the students' educational programs.

I am also grateful to our incredible employees of Maria Montessori Academy. They too have made a transition that I never thought possible. In just two days they began to put together a distance learning program that I feel is one of the best I have heard of, even among schools that are heavily immersed in technology. I am in awe of such a professional, hardworking group of people that have the best interest of your children in mind.

I look forward to Mr. Micah Hirokawa coming to the school and being the director. He brings a great deal of experience and is well qualified to lead this wonderful educational community for many years. I have truly been grateful for the opportunity to join with you for this time that I have had as interim director.

Best regards,

Mr. Mike

Ms. Andrea's Counseling Corner

Hello MMA family,

I hope this email finds you all safe and well. The last few weeks have been stressful, confusing, and uncertain for everyone, adults and children alike. I have actually been out of town dealing with a family situation for the past two weeks, so I apologize about not being in touch sooner. Now that I am back, I am available for consultation, support, and questions. I can do Zoom meetings with students (and parents), phone calls, email, and packets for social/emotional learning skills. I am also preparing some video lessons for different age levels and I will have information about how to access those in Maria Montessori Moments newsletter this Monday. My email address is: Please reach out if you would like to set up a meeting or have any concerns or anything that I can help you with.

Thank you for all you do!

Junior High Fees

We still have quite a few students who have an outstanding balance for Junior High student fees. Please remit payment to the office as soon as possible. 100% of student fees go toward purchasing textbooks, equipment and field trips for Junior High students. If you need payment arrangements please contact Ms. Autumn in the office.

If your child is desiring to switch a class with the new quarter arriving, please send an email to Ms. Andrea, the school counselor. There will be a class change fee.
