Knightly Update February 11, 2024
ACP High School - Edition Vol 3 Issue 28
Hello. I hope you are enjoying your weekend and getting ready to watch the big game or the final round (maybe) of the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Regardless of your plans, I hope your weekend was nice.
You should have received a message from the district about ParentSquare, a platform that unifies school to home communications. You may read more about this platform on the CUSD district website. The Choice is Yours - Full Page / ParentSquare in CUSD (cusd80.com) Beginning next week, you will be receiving invites to join the platform. Then our teachers will strive to send communications via ParentSquare by the end of the week. However, since this is a new platform and we are still in the process of establishing ParentSquare districtwide, we will duplicate our communication temporarily, so that we ensure no messages are missed. As a staff, we are all being introduced to this new platform so your patience and understanding as we learn how to effectively use this application is appreciated. ParentSquare was piloted in other CUSD schools last semester, and the feedback has been very positive, so I am excited to begin using ParentSquare as our primary communication tool as well.
It is Random Acts of Kindness Week at ACPHS. This is always one of my favorite weeks of the year where we simply celebrate kindness and being kind to one another. Our school's Student Government has been busy planning the week and developing activities promoting kindness and I look forward to seeing and participating in their events. As we enter the week, let's all remember that a simple act of kindness, or a kind word, goes a long way in making a difference in a person's life. Enjoy the week, Knights.
I want to wish our winter sport athletes the best of luck as they begin state tournament play this week. The schedule is below. In addition, our spiritline will be heading to compete at USA Nationals on Thursday. Good luck, ladies! A very exciting week ahead for sure. Please come out and cheer on our student athletes as they work to bring home the championship trophy. Good luck, Knights! Let's GO!
Congratulations to all the students and organizations that participated in our school's STEAM Knight last week. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend this year's event, but I heard it was a fantastic evening. Thank you to our school's Chief Science Officers, Mrs. Nath, and the entire science team on developing a wonderful event showcasing our amazing students while providing opportunities for guests to interact and participate throughout the evening. Congratulations to the students that won awards at this year's STEAM Awards ceremony, and good luck as you prepare to compete at the district fair later this month. The names of this year's award recipients will be included in next week's Knights in the Spotlight section. Great job, everyone.
Mid-quarter grades were posted on Friday and are available for review via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you have any questions, please contact the appropriate instructor. Have a very nice week, and remember, kindness matters! Enjoy the week.

Please Make a Tax Credit Donation
If you are able to make your tax contributions early in the year, your donation would be greatly appreciated and give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50.00 per family for a total of $57,500.00 and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
