JD Parker and SeaWind are named Five Star Schools!
Congratulations to our recently named Five Star Schools: Bessey Creek Elementary School, Crystal Lake Elementary School, Felix A. Williams Elementary School, J. D. Parker Elementary School, Jensen Beach Elementary School, Jensen Beach High School, Murray Middle School, Palm City Elementary School, Sea Wind Elementary School and South Fork High School!
The award, created by the Florida Department of Education, is bestowed upon schools that are committed to incorporating family and community members into the school environment to enhance student learning.
The Five Star School Award was created by the Commissioner's Community Involvement Council and is presented annually to those schools that have shown evidence of exemplary community involvement. In order to earn Five Star School recognition, a school must show documentation that it has achieved 100 percent of the established criteria in the following categories. Schools must also earn a grade of "C" or above, or school improvement rating of "maintaining or improving" for the year of nomination.

Anderson Middle School Gallops through Literacy Week
AMS had a busy Literacy Week with various activities focusing on academic vocabulary, Sunshine State Readers, teacher reading, and a poster contest. There was great participation in the poster contest with more than a hundred posters submitted. AMS is proud to announce the following winners.
- 1st place - Abigail Flores, 7th grade
- 2nd place - Brittney Clemons, Natalie Gomez, and Emma Graciak, 8th grade
- 3rd place tie:
- Quintin Arroyo, 6th grade
- Alexis Schwab, Mardi Walters, and Aiden Shrader, 8th grade.
- Honorable Mention - Claire Austhof, Noyana Pierre-Louis, Viraj Singh, Sofia Hernandez, Victor Ortega, Dylan Sparks, Molly O’Donnell and Angeleah Rinker.
1st through 3rd place winners received $5 gift certificates to McDonalds.
