Oh boy!
A safe environment for struggle
Consider these questions as you watch:
- What does the teacher call the students?
- What does the teacher do to "normalize" experiencing difficulty in a problem?
- What does the teacher learn from students when she asks for them to justify their thinking?
- What does the teacher ask the students to encourage thinking about their struggle?
- How can you tweak some of her prompts to make them middle school age appropriate?
Rock on Pirates! Arrrgh!
