2nd Annual Knock Down Hunger Challenge on February 14th
What is the Knock Down Challenge? We are competing with other elementary schools in our area to bring the most cereal boxes (the boxes need to be new and full) to school before or in the morning of February 14th.
There is a trophy, presented by the Backpack Society, for the school who brings the most cereal boxes. Last year we were able to collect 333 boxes of cereal.
On February 14, we will set up all the cereal boxes (Domino style) in the front lobby and through the hallways. It is a blast and the students love seeing them get knocked down.
Once the Annual Knock Down Challenge is over, all cereal boxes will be donated to the Backpack Society for families in need in our community.
Just have your student bring the cereal boxes to CCE front office.
Thank you! Please remember that contributing to our fundraisers is completely optional. We appreciate anything you decide to give.

FUNdraiser for Backpack Society
CCE parent and founder of EAP Toy and Games Chrissy Fagerholt is hosting a game night FUNdraiser for the Backpack Society at CCE! The best part? 100% of the proceeds goes to the Backpack Society, which benefits kids and staff of 43 schools in our community by providing much needed food.
Inspired by her time working as a lunch aide for DCSD, Chrissy invented a board game called "The Lunchroom Game", a fun game that uses light strategy and a little luck to being the first to fill your lunch tray, but you must beat the lunchroom odds, its cast of characters, and be ready to fight for the tater tots to win!
When: Friday, February 10th
Time: 6-8pm
Where: CCE Cafeteria (of course!)
The cost to attend is $25 per family. This will include either of the games created and donated by Chrissy, "The Lunchroom Game" or "You Who," popcorn, juice, and lots of laughs with family and friends. Families will play the game and at the end of the evening get to take it home to enjoy again and again!
If you would like to attend this family-friendly and fun way to give back to this amazing organization, please send Chrissy $25 via Venmo @chrissyfagerholt and put CCE and the game you would like to play in the comments. Then join us on February 10th at the CCE Cafeteria for a fun night!
Can't attend but still want to contribute? No problem! Send Chrissy a Venmo and comment that you can't attend the event and which game you’d like. You can pick up the game at school the following Monday and the proceeds will still be donated to the Backpack Society!
P.S: The Backpack Society has said they are in need of the following items, so feel free to bring one or two with you to game night:
- Family size cereal
- Family size boxed crackers
- Pasta sauce
- Jerky
- Granola bars
- Mac and cheese boxes
- Chef Boyardee/ Spaghettio’s
- Peanut butter and Jelly
Questions? Contact Chrissy.
Hope to see you there!

Join CCE PTO and King Soopers Contest
Did you know that CCE earned $8k through the King Soopers Community Rewards program last year?! Even more amazing is that this huge total was generated by only having 150 families signed up and identifiying CCE as the nonprofit organization that receives the benefits when they shop! Imagine how much we could raise if we had more participation? To accomplish that goal we're introducing a King Soopers Contest!
A few times during the school year the PTO will have a drawing for a $25 King Soopers gift card. To be eligible to win all you have to do is link your King Soopers account to Coyote Creek PTO and email a screen shot showing your enrollment!
Here's how to do it:
- Go to the app, click on the three lines icon on the upper right corner
- ***New users will need to create a King Soopers account which requires basic
- information, a valid email address and a rewards card.***
- 2. Click on "Rewards"
- 3. Then "Community Rewards"
- 4. Under “Link your Card to an organization” click on the link labeled “here” to search
- for Coyote Creek PTO either by name or WX862
- 5. Click Enroll
To be entered into the raffle:
Take a screenshot of your enrollment and email it to PTO Treasurer Amy Haines and you are in the drawing for the $25 King Soopers giftcard!
Are you already enrolled?
Thank you! Take a screenshot of your enrollment (under "Rewards" and "Community Rewards" and email it to Amy Haines and you are ALSO entered in the drawing for the $25 King Soopers giftcard!
Rules:
Drawings will be held 4 times this school year. The next chance to win is February 28th at midnight MST. Winner will be chosen via random number generator. If you win at any point during the year, you cannot win again. If you don't win, you don't need to reenter the drawing, your name will stay in the pool all year.
Bonus idea: Enter your other family members, coworkers, neighbors, dog walkers, etc. and send a screenshot from them for more entries to win! Staff is welcome to enter as well. Good luck and thank you!
