- We are accepting donations of plants our group will use to brighten up the entrance of the Bagnall School. Anyone willing to donate flowers for us to plant is asked to bring in donations by Monday 5/22/2023.
Thank you for your continued support!
Rubbish to Runway began in 2010 to bring attention to the waste cycle and help promote
awareness of reuse and recycling. For the first 12 years it donated all the funds it raised to a school in Guatemala built with recycled materials called Long Way Home.
The show itself features local and international designers who make dresses out of unusual
materials such as bread tabs, bicycle tires, and plastic bags to name a few. All the materials are headed to the trash bin if not rescued for a dress or other garment.
In 2023 we decided to pick a local cause and all the funds from the June 2023 Rubbish to Runway will go to support the Veasey Memorial Park in Groveland.
Veasey Memorial is a 48-acre historic park with recreational activities and two venue spaces in Groveland. The funds will go to develop Lucile's Cottage, a neglected but beautiful building on the property. Our goal is to revive the building by renovating it into 6-10 art studio spaces with an artist in residency program to help sustain the property’s finances and to expand programming in the arts and sciences.
