STANWOOD HIGH SCHOOL
FAMILY UPDATE FOR WEEK OF APRIL 24, 2023
SHS VISION STATEMENT
Stanwood Spartans are united in cultivating character, modeling respect, teaching leadership and connecting to community.

Families: We are down to the final 40 days of the school year. We encourage students to reach out if they are struggling. Students can sign up to meet with their counselor by going to the counseling office. Administrators are also available. Students can go to the main office and ask to speak with an administrator.
We are using "unstuck" strategies this year with students. We want them to know what to do when they get stuck. Our "unstuck" chart is below.

DISTRICT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR & STANWOOD HIGH SCHOOL ASB/ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR

The Stanwood-Camano School District is proud to announce that Lauren Amundson will become the District Athletic Director & Stanwood High ASB/Activities Director, effective July 1.
Lauren Amundson will help manage athletic programs at our secondary schools and field/gym availability throughout the district. She will also oversee Stanwood High’s clubs and activities as well as the Associated Student Body (ASB).
She is a proud Stanwood High graduate and former college volleyball coach, and she currently serves as the Stanwood High School Athletic Secretary. A diverse team composed of members of the community, staff, students, and the District Equity Team helped guide candidate interviews.

CLASS OF 2023 Signing Day Celebration
Seniors and Families:
We would like to invite you to join us as we celebrate the Class of 2023 at our first annual Signing Day Celebration. Signing Day is an opportunity to celebrate students committing to pursue their education past high school. Whether a student wants to earn a two-year degree, a four-year degree, a certificate or industry-recognized credential, transfer to a new institution, complete an apprenticeship, or enlist in the military, we want to celebrate them! We will hold a ceremony at 6:00 PM on May 15th at Stanwood High School where students will be recognized for their post-high school path and sign a commitment to this path. To sign up to participate, students should complete this form by May 1st. Please only submit one form per student.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
