Current events
By Allison, 5th Grader
Hey Bobcats! This week for the current events we are going to tell you about a global effort to help a community affected by the coronavirus. And bobcats… that community is… YOU! Last week, Amerman bobcat student donated $1,275 to doctors and nurses! Bobcats made a difference and helped their community by being kind, caring, and inspiring. Thank you to all of them for making a difference and finding hope, light, and balance in the world. We greatly appreciate it, and are sure doctors and nurses do too!
Also, lots of Bobcats have been putting kind and hopeful messages in front of their houses, with chalk or posters or any creative thing that they can find. The messages are finding light and bringing hope. We are all inspired by that, and encourage all of you bobcats to do that as well. Thank you to everyone who has been finding light, balance, and bringing hope to us!
HABITS IN ACTION
Habit 2 - Begin with the End in Mind
By Zoe, 3rd Grader
Hi Bobcats this is the second week for the Bobcat pride press this week I am going to be doing the second habit, And that is… Begin with the end in mind, which means that you should always make a plan or always stay prepared. Think about what your goal is and make a plan to get there. Think of the steps you need to do to meet your goal.
1. Remember that you should always have a plan like this you should tidy up your room before fun that way after things it won't be so hard!
2.Or before you go and watch a movie on the weekends you could take a shower before the movie so that you don't have to take a shower after you watch the movie it could be late when the movie ends!
That's it for the second habit this week Bobcats, have a great weekend!

Learn Something New - How to Draw a Cat
Submitted by Quinn Guthrie, 4th Grader
Learning doesn’t just have to be about school work, the most fun we have learning is when we learn about something we are interested in. This could be reading or math, science or history, even writing. It can also be learning a new recipe, how to cook or create a code or robot. Always keep learning and your mind will always keep growing.
Last week Quinn took learning how to draw a cat to a new level. Here’s an example of a cheetah he drew free hand.
his week learn how to make a paper airplane: How to Make a Paper Airplane
We’d love to see what you make this week. Share with us via the Amerman Elementary PTA Facebook Page or on Twitter @amermannv or email Ms. LaManna at lamannael@northvilleschools.org

Mrs. Caudill's Read Aloud
This week Mrs. Caudill started reading a new book. The book is Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke. Ms. Funke has written several books our upper elementary students may be familiar with including Inkheart and The Thief Lord. The book appeals to all ages, from early elementary to adult. It is a story about friendship, adventure and the true meaning of home.
The story is about Firedrake, Ben and their furry friend, Sorrel, who are in search of the mythical place where dragons can live in peace forever. Together, they embark on a journey that takes them to magical lands where they meet marvelous creatures - and one ruthless villain. Along the way, they discover allies in odd places, courage they didn't know they had, and a hidden destiny that changes everything.
