PARENT UNIVERSITY ON CYBER SAFETY AND SECURITY
The next Parent University will be held Thursday, Oct. 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Dripping Springs High School cafeteria. Amy Gonzales with the Child Exploitation Unit in the Texas Attorney General's Office will present on cyber safety and security. Childcare and pizza will be provided for attendees; please RSVP by using the QR code above.
DYSLEXIA INFORMATION NIGHT
Dripping Springs ISD Special Services will host a Dyslexia Information Night for parents on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. via zoom. Registration is not required for the event. Please contact the Special Services Department at 512.858.3066 with any questions.
Topics for the information night include:
- Understanding Dyslexia and updates to the law
- A look inside Dyslexia instruction
- Assistive technology
- Postsecondary tips
OCTOBER IS NATIONAL PRINCIPALS MONTH
Celebrated every October, National Principals Month is an opportunity to celebrate and honor our incredible school principals for their visionary leadership and tireless pursuit of success for each student. At Dripping Springs ISD, we are lucky to have eight incredible campus leaders who devote countless hours to support their students, staff and school!
ELEMENTARY PRINCIPALS
Kellie Raymond, Cypress Springs Elementary: Kellie Raymond has been a part of the DSISD family since 2006. She is in her second year leading CSE, and previously served six years as the Dripping Springs Elementary principal and six years as an assistant principal at Walnut Springs Elementary.
Jamie Eubanks, Dripping Springs Elementary: Jamie Eubanks is in her sixth year with DSISD and second year as DSE principal following four years as the school's assistant principal.
Steve Novickas, Rooster Springs Elementary: Steve Novickas is in his sixth year at DSISD and fourth year as the RSE principal. He previously served two years as an assistant principal at Sycamore Springs Middle School.
Cody Spraberry, Sycamore Springs Elementary: Cody Spraberry is in his first year at DSISD after joining us from nearby Eanes ISD where he was a principal for six years.
Maureen Jamail, Walnut Springs Elementary: Maureen Jamail has been with DSISD since 2006, and is in her first year leading WSE. She previously served as an assistant principal for Dripping Springs High School and WSE.
SECONDARY PRINCIPALS
Angela Frankhouser, Dripping Springs Middle School: Angela Frankhouser enters her first year with DSISD following nine years as a campus principal for Lake Travis ISD.
Kelly Miller, Sycamore Springs Middle School: Kelly Miller has been with the district since 2016, and is in her first year as SSMS principal. She served four years as an assistant principal at Dripping Springs High School and two years at DSMS.
Angela Gamez, Dripping Springs High School: Angela Gamez joined DSISD in 2015 and is in her fourth year as the DSHS principal. Previously, she served three years as an assistant principal at DSHS.
TIGER BAND ADVANCES TO AREA
The Dripping Springs High School Tiger Band received a 1 rating at the UIL Region 18 Marching Contest on Tuesday, Oct. 11 to advance to the UIL Area D Marching Contest.
DSHS will compete for a state berth at the area contest on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Heroes Stadium in San Antonio.
DSHS STUDENTS NAMED TO REGION CHOIR
Dripping Springs High School was well represented at the region choir competition with 21 students earning a place on the Region 18 Choir and advancing to pre-area auditions.
The Region 18 Choir will perform on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center. Pre-area auditions will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Anderson High School in Austin.
To earn a spot in the Region Choir and advance to pre-area auditions, students must place among the top competitors in each voice part.
