RCC Monthly Update

September 2020

Dear Families,

The Riverside Community Council (RCC) welcomes all new and returning families to the 2020-21 school year at Riverside Magnet School at Goodwin University! While this year may look a little different from what we are all used to, we have been hard at work over the summer to plan activities and events to help keep families connected, whether you are a hybrid or distance learning family.

For those of you unfamiliar with the RCC, we are a forum for families, teachers, staff and administrators to share ideas, support learning, sustain a vibrant school community and help shape the future direction of Riverside Magnet School. The RCC provides opportunities for families to collaborate and connect with each other and to hear directly from school Administrators and staff on important updates and school news.

Trunk or Treat - Drive through style!

We are looking for volunteers to deck out their cars for our 2nd annual Trunk or Treat at RMS! This event will look a little different from your typical trunk or treat. We will have vehicles spaced apart in our parking lot and families can drive through the drop off/pick up lane to participate. Attendees will receive a bag of pre-packaged treats at the end of the route. If you are interested in volunteering to decorate your vehicle, please click here to sign up.

Did you know that there are easy ways to help the RCC raise money for our school—for events, programming, staff support and anything else that can use extra funding? Here are 2 ways you can help out.

Staff Welcome

We chalked the walk and treated RMS staff to welcome them back for the 2020-21 school year. While this year may look a little different from what we are all used to, we know the amazing teachers and staff at our school will do all that they can to make this another great year for all RMS students!
