Veteran's Day-November 11th

We want to say a sincere Thank You to all of our Veterans for your service. Without you, we would not have the freedoms we have to continue to educate our young Americans. We are also grateful to all of our students who are making the commitment to serve after graduation. We thank you in advance for all you will do.

Lady Dawgs are Heading to the Regional Quarter Finals

Please join us in Abilene on Tuesday for a showdown between the Lady Dawgs and Martin High. Game will be played at Abilene Cooper at 6:30pm on Tuesday the 12th.

Google Sign-Up for ASVAB

Please click the link below if you would like to take the ASVAB. This test is required for students who are interested in enlisting in any of the military branches, but is also a wonderful aptitude test for students who are not sure what skills they are best at and what might be a perfect career choice for them. This is helpful even if you are not planning on enlisting and all are welcome to take it. There is no fee to do so.

Spanish Club Competes in 5K

Thank you to the members of the Spanish Club who participated in the recent 5K run to benefit orphans of Kenia. We are very proud of the way our students recognize need and find ways to serve.

Judy Bridges, MISD's Director of Advanced Academic Services, will be joined by Jeff Horner, Executive Director of Secondary Education, to share important updates in areas including:

- Updates to the Advanced Placement Program

- National Math / Science Initiative

- PSAT

- Grade Point Averages


You will also learn about opportunities to participate in 2020 GTPA programs including summer enrichment and an honors college forum!

Seniors will be completing their Apply Texas College Applications this Week

Midland College, the Counselors and our Midland College liaison, Mrs. Becky Gonzalez, will begin assisting students with their applications to Midland College. For those students who haven't completed their FSA ID, they will complete them as well.

MHS Around the World Club

The Around the World Club participated in Trick or Treat for UNICEF and raised $108.41 to deliver lifesaving supplies to children in need! If you are interested in joining this club, please see Mrs. Geronimo.
